He has survived countless fights that he nearly lost.
Ehem; the Obi-Wan duel on Mustafar and the duel with Darth Maul come to mind.
Those two are the perfect example of good luck.

once again the duel on Mustafar cost him his humanity. not a very good luck. and he killed that maul thingy by stabbing himself in the chest. that doesn't need good luck. just that you're bold enough to do it. and propably stupid too.

the force is part of anakin, you can't justify wedge being better by taking away part of anakin and the only reason luke got down the trench was becasue Solo came out of nowhere to get vadar...

I reckon the best is Wedge Antilles.

Anakin's ability was largely down to his Force sensitivity, Luke and Jaina's on their Force training.

Soontir Fel was the best Imperial pilot, and was better than Han in starfighter size ships (as Han admitted), but i still reckon Wedge had a slight edge over him. I think that Jag was probably about on Par with Han, maybe slightly better.

i agree on this except anakins total ability (with force) was greater than wedges (who wasn't force sensitive). Maybe i misunderstood the topic but i thought this was who flew best not who would fly best if everyone wasn't force sensitive.

Im working on pure piloting skill. By excluding the Force, it puts everyone on an equal playing field.

and it really is tough one. Anakin is the best in my mind but Wedge comes very closely behind just like Soontir Fel. And as corellians they have that "corellian luck" so often mentioned to help them.

ok, in that case i would say probably wedge. altho no one really knows how good anakin/luke would be without the force.

Yep in one of the han solo books han pilots a z-95 against pirates. from what i remember he held his own. 8)

He's more of a star ship captain than a fighter pilot. In fact, he wanted to be a SD captain in his youth.
