last year, werent there 6 school shootings in 1 week in the USA?

depends. do you count that as a school shooting when one boy shoots two boys he hates in revenge? It is nothing like those usual shootings in usa when the gunmen just shoots everyone they see. if you don't count that one explained up there yes that was our first shooting. And no one saw it coming. We are taking too much of an example from usa.

i guess.
i normally think of a school shooting as a massacre of students.
its hard to distinguish between a killing for your reason, and a school shooting. i guess shootings are slightly more organised normally.

define organized. Every school shooting I know haven't had any special targets. the shooter/s go to school and kill as many people they can and finally commit suicide.

Meyer what do you mean you take the USA's directions? that is a stupid idiotic thing to say, i am an American and just because you have a school shooting doesn't mean you are taking our direction. Just admit it, Finland is far from perfect your country is messed up too. that doesn't mean we are the cause of your problems. your citizens committed the shooting end of story leave America out of it, unless you are talking about school shootings as a whole, don't blame your shootings on us.

what I meant was that some indiciduals are taking example from usa. Auvinen for example admired the shooters of columbine and virginia. Without those shootings would this have happened? maybe, maybe not we can't never know. And yes Finland isn't perfect country. no country is. but we have something better here than usa. Finland has the third highest gun ownership in the world and still this was the first major school shooting in our history. And there was that Myyrmanni bomb strike few years back. more resemblance from usa and other western countries were terrorist make bomb strikes. but I would see that this bomb strike relates much to the Oklahoma bomb attack as both were done by people who were born and raised in the country they then bombed and neither was muslim. Now we just wait for planes to come down or maybe we see Estonia as a threat to our security and attack it in the name of peace and liberty.

ya i am not saying we are perfect either we have our own issues. but our population is a lot larger then yours so of course our ratio would be higher. stop blaming them getting their ideas from us. in the end they chose to do it plain and simple.

yep. I didn't blame you. I said that we are taking an example of usa. you have had the most school shootings in world. and the most deadliest. I didn't say it is usas fault. but the fact remains that Auvinen did get the idea from usa and that he admired the school shooters of columbine and virginia. without those shootings would he have gotten the idea? I doubt it. school shooting is something that is not done in finland. And when I say that he got example from usa, don't come and say that he didn't if he (Auvinen) said it himself in his writings on the internet. and that fact that usa has the highest gun ownership in the world has nothing to do with the number of murders and shooting done. The problem is in the people as you said yourself.

one week, america had 6 school shootings. i propportionately, russia would of had a third the school shootings of UA, but it doesn't. i think the last major one was the chechnya schoold shooting about 3 years ago, and there may have been one more recent one. america, on the other hand, have at least one a year, probably more. all the school shooting that have happened outside of usa. i doubt its even half of the number in the USA. oh well, at least this time next year, bush wont be president. hopefully, there will be someone with the sense to reinforce gun ownership laws.

it might not help, but it will make it harder for them to get guns, and so, there will be less trouble with them, but they may just start up school stabbings lol.

iraq- hmm completely destabilised a country, which had NO Weapons of mass destruction, and although it had a bad dictator, it wasnt justified. it was for oil, and only oil. now Iraq has a fragile democracy, which will undoubtedly collapse as soon as troops move out. Bush has put Iraq into a stalemate. Killing terrorists won't stop terrorism. They are going to die either way. do you really think a terrorist will not be a suicide bomber because americans might kill him? bush has done nothing but badness to America.
