As did Guardian. I don't think that the biggest ships in the NR and GFFA fleet were weak against ISDs. Althought in rebel alliance they only had ships that were weak against ISDs.

well lets face the fact that Empire lost solely because it is a way of movies to end. The "good" must always beat the "bad". But if it were real life I am sure that the Empire would have won rebels 10-0.

Yes. In A New Hope, why did not the DS designers just have put a sheild around that exaust port. Plus, you cant have exaust in space.

I think that if the exhaust port would have been shielded, the radiation it exahels would have passed the shield. and in that case you wouldn't even need the port anyway.

But if you did not need it than the radiation would have passed through the DS and hit the crew.

yes. but my point is that maybe it wasn't shielded because the shield would have blocked the radiations way out of the core. meaning that it would have the same result if you build a shield to protect the port and not have a hole at all.

They Empire "pawned" itself. The rebels lost almost every battle that didn't have an overly large waste of superlaser dishes and credits. The Mon Calamari Cruisers allowed them to engage Star destroyers (Not all 24,000 of em) and at least have a chance of winning if they did it properly. After Palpatine's death what was left was a bunch of greedy high position people and Grand Admirals that started fighting amongst themselves as well as fighting the New Republic which was constantly growing.

Good point.  If Thrawn hadn't died, even if he wasn't a genius, the empire still would have won because he unified it.

About the DS exhaust port, it was particle shielded, so energy like lasers and radiation couldn't get through, but solid objects like a proton torpedoe could

And you can have exhaust in space, why would you not be able to?

I believe that if the Grand Admirals and other power hungry fools had united their strenght, they would have still destroyed the rebel alliance.

I doubt it, it would have been a much longer war, but at the empires height with palpatine and they still couldnt defeat the rebels, i doubt anyone but Thrawn would have been able to pull it off

But they weren't allowed to act freely. Emperor didn't allow that. He wanted to destroy the rebellion with DSII.
