The ship that sved the rebellion
« on: August 05, 2007, 12:37:13 PM »
There is no doubt in my mind that the moncal cruisers saved the rebellion ther ships where stonger than wstar destroyeres expscilly the later ships mc-90 mc-85 ECT. so what do you *Points to evrey one reading this thread* think?

Make no mistake, the Mon Calamari saved the galaxy. Their cruisers protected our fleet at the Battle of Endor, allowing the starfighters to penetrate the second Death Star's core. Without Admiral Ackbar and his people, we would all be the Emperor's slaves."

The later classes after it was the New Republic and GFFA rather than the Rebellion were generally better than ISDs. However, all of the ones the Rebels had were weaker than ISDs. Yes, they did arguaably save the Rebellion but they were just converted luxery cruisers. They could not beat ISDs on their own.

Also, MC85 was our own invention because of how weak the other Mon Cals were.

They never had a Dauntless. Dauntless class was only in SW Rebellionfor balance purposes.

I don't that Mon Calamari cruiser saved rebellion. They weren't that good against ISDs. I think that what really saved rebellion was their superior starfighters, like X-wing, B-wing and what else did they have. Empires TIEs were not as good as those fighters. And let's remember that snubfighters (with the help form Millenium Falcon) destroyed both Death Stars. Not your precious Mon Calamari Cruisers.

very true, their snubfighters allowed them to do hit and run strikes too because of their hyperdrives.

yes. MCCs were mostly protecting their bases before Endor, while snubfighters harassed Empires supply convoys and shipyards and other installations.

what you fail to realize if the mcc had not been harassing the lager capital ships the empire would ofsimpl launced more fighters in to the ds and killd th rebel fighters in route star fighters are not the most important tjing to a fleet there only a part thant makes it whole aka you nee corvetts frigates capital cass ships and friATES AND SNUB fighters to get the job done and every one shold know if acbar hadent taken out the esecutot she would have sen all her fighters after the rebel fighter headed to the ds

Being engaged with an enemy ship isn't going to stop fighters from launching. Notice how it was an A-wing that finally made them lose control of the Executor and hit the Death Star? The Executor was far from finished before the A-Wing hit the main command bridge, it had just lost it's shield. The loss of control allowed it to be pulled in by the Death Star.

yep. That was because there was limited number of large capital ships and because they were weak against ISDs.
