As a random thought I would sign up as a VA for 2.2, but then I realized I had no decent mic or recording software despite being told I have a good voice.

So was doing some reading and came across this. The Warlord period of China in the early 1900s with the fall of the Qing Empire. It's eerily fitting just how much it resembles the Empire's fragmentation to Warlordism after Endor. From the insane egos, self destructive conflicts, over the top military uniforms and titles to the eventual reunification and eventual fall to the Communist Party, China in this period could very well be a mirror to the post Endor galaxy.

I always thought the collapse of the Alexandrian empire was the most fitting for the star wars story.

In terms of scale, self destructive infighting while ignoring larger outside threats and the self promoting egos of the Warlords I feel the Chinese Warlord era is a closer fit.

You can get a decent mike for fairly cheap. In meantime you can use your phone recorder and email voice samples of characters you want to voice.
