Hey everyone :) If you want to cut to the chase, skip this paragraph or just read the yellow text before the divider, but if you want to hear my story, keep reading! Anyway, I'm probably among the few TR players who has had the chance to do a multiplayer campaign match with anyone :(, but if you have ever done the multiplayer campaign, you probably know that there is only one campaign map for multiplayer which you can only play as the Remnant or the New Republic. So as you can guess my friend Akira/The Rising Sun and I were very disappointed in this(but really only I was because I actually care). Even though i knew nothing about code I said to her and myself that I could probably turn this map into a map that both of us could play as any of the 4 factions(Sorry Yevetha, the fact that you cannot even build a mine or something like it excludes you from being a real faction, and because various units won't won't shut up when I move them). So I thought to myself how hard could it be right? Well actually it was just about as easy as i thought, and you could say that I learned very basic coding overnight(well not really :'(). So I did multiple tests with this map that i edited and along with that made several of my own maps and also tweaking them.
So after all of that I made an entirely different map which includes all 4 main factions (inspired by Battle of Naboo EaW map) that has been tested and repeatedly tweaked that I hope will get into the next 2.1 Release :).
The forum won't let me attach my file, so if you want to try this map, go to http://www.mediafire.com/?7jecobe5lwxdw41 (http://www.mediafire.com/?7jecobe5lwxdw41) and download it!
Here are the steps for making the map playable:
1. Download the map XML file from the link(which should download into your "Downloads" folder)
2. Go into your XML folder in your Imperial Civil War folder((My)Computer>C Drive>Program Files ((x86))>LucasArts>SWEaWFoC>Mods>Imperial Civil War> XML)
3. Take the "Campaigns_Multiplayer.xml" file out and store it somewhere else
4. Replace it with my file(also called "Campaigns_Multiplayer.xml")
Note:Since I don't want to change other files, the map name of the person who joins the game will say "[MISSING]", but it's(not official) name I gave it is "Battle of Talfaglio", which those in the lobby and the host will be able to see.
If you want to play this with me, just leave a comment saying you do want to play and your in-game username 8=)!
I'm a disk player and have both hot-fixes(and use Desura if that matters ;)).
Please comment!! Commenting will GREATLY INCREASE the chances of this map and more to come to be in ICW 2.1! ALSO the more popularity, the more maps I will release!
Depending on whether if 2.1 will have some of my maps, or how long until 2.1 is finished, I may be releasing more maps for the community ;)! If the TR dev team doesn't include my maps, I'll be releasing them on my own for the community 8=)!
If you want me to make a map for you, leave a comment for me with as many details(planets, maps, factions, starting units(and locations of), name you want for the map, ect.)as possible :)(If giving planets, make sure they all connect as in single player GCs. Planets like Coruscant and Mon Calamari CANNOT be connected!)

Np! Just be sure as the PA to get Pakrik Minor space and then Capture Byss so you can build capital ships!(Btw, both the space of Pakrik and Byss are both able to be conquered by Grant alone. Also, Byss can be captured using all of your beginning ground forces(which I just think are a few PA troopers, but they still do it!))
PS: DO NOT go for Abregado-Rae or Corellia(also depending on which faction you are, don't go for Duro or Pantolomin either), because these are where the bulk of forces start for each faction, which can be catastrophic for your fleet if you attack in the beginning!

Sovereign Showdown: Map focusing on the Imperial Remnant's Sovereign-Class. Hoping to be able to edit code so on way to win is to destroy the Sovereign-Class!
Enclosing Empires: Imperial Faction's planet are all surrounding the New Republic that is stuck in the middle of their conflict(May include Yevetha!)

I just want to ask though, how would it be possible to change code to make it so when a specific unit dies(like the DS in Vanilla EaW), the faction who lost he unit would also lose entirely?

Perhaps by setting it as leader or a super weapon? I have no coding experience though, only guessing.

I guess it might be possible to set up the Sovereign Class as the IR's leader in code(lol ::))) or as the Super Weapon rather than the DS, but I really only want to change just one file for now for simplicity's sake.

If I were you I'd just try using those entries for testing and placing the Pride of Yevethas entry within them.

Well if you mean by like instead of "Galactic_Super_Weapon_Destruction" I put "Galactic_Pride_of_Yevetha_Destruction", I've tried that but to no avail :(, but I will try "Galactic_Kill_Pride_of_Yevetha":)

You can't just make up fields Kalo, that's something you put in a specific field, not a field in itself and you can't just try to make it one. The faction leader is already a thing and that's not a real line. As I recall, Pirates is the Imperial Warlords, Sarlacc is Hapes, and the Yevetha are in as themselves (did you remember to check Expansion_Factions.xml too?).

By the way Kalo, Venators need a power boost because they are the coolest looking battleships in Star Wars. As I recall they were used extensively by the Rebel alliance and they would have lost without them /s
Yeah I get what you mean, I was joking. But seriously it amazes me how much stupid shit people spew out of their... keyboards? It's like they put practically no thought into their 'brilliant ideaz' Every faction has a different play style, and not al of them need an SSD.

What program are u supposed to open it with? I tried with Text Document(the only thing I could) but it is filled with random letters and symbols at the top and a bunch of words mashed together at the bottom.

For those of your who are interested in this topic, I'm sorry I haven't been posting much. RisingSun(my tester) hasn't been on much lately, and most of my coding time for the past few days has been devoted to another little project for TR which I hope I'll be able to release soon ;)!
I'm no longer looking for help with testing. Sorry if you were thinking about it :(
So being that as it may, I'm opening up slots for anyone who wants to help me test my maps!
You need to:
-Be Desura compatible
-Have your FoC updated to it's latest version on Disc
-Imperial Civil War 2.0(Obviously)
-Have both Hot-fixes installed
-Patience
-Be able to play somewhere within 7pm-12am EST
-Provide the email you want files sent to you either in a private message, forum post, or have it visible on your account
I'm not restricted to those times. Sometimes I'll be able to play in the morning or afternoon(EST),
But those times I'm usually able to be on (and just as a note, I don't USUALLY play this game at mid-night, but if that is the only time I would be able to test, than so be it)

For those of you who know, after I complete Enclosing Empires and Pride of Yevetha, I'll be working on Sovereign Showdown. This being the last map of the 3 I promised, I want this one to be the crown jewel of all my work on these maps ;). Now ofc I want all my maps to be good, but for this one I'm asking for the creativity of the entire community :)! Right now, I plan to use the TR dev's team genius by using the map(or a slightly different) "Hunt for Zsinj"(Sorry, but this map won't let you play as Zsinj, although, that would be a fun map to make!).
So really, I want the community's opinion of what would make this map great!
For example, I think heroes can play a big role in game play experience, and since I'm not an expert on all of TR's heroes, hero suggestions for each faction would be a great help :)!
I've ruled out a few things already, like making Yevetha playable, having Palpatine, and like I said before, playing as Zsinj, so those won't be making the cut. In all of my previous maps (except for Sovereign Showdown),as far as I know, have the following heroes:
New Republic:
Han Solo & Chewbacca,
Admiral Ackbar(Galactic Voyager),
Luke Skywalker,
Illor(Corusca Rainbow), and
Airen Cracken(Stealth Unit/Spy)
Imperial Remnant:
Blitzer Harrsk(Tector),
Freja Covel(AT-AT),
Joruus C'baoth
Empire of the Hand:
Thrawn,
Parck,
Ashik(Stealth/Spy),
Aurek Seven,
Hand of Judgement

Say Harrsk with ISDs and Tectors, Teradoc with his Crimsons and some interdictors and Delvardus with Praetors and the Knight Hammer.
Delvardus- very few cap ships but very powerful, few slow heavy land units
Teradoc- lots of medium power cap ships but no hard hitters or lots of fighters, lots of light fast land units
Harrsk- midway between Delvardus and Harrsk, powerful ships and more of them but not on super ship status. Medium units as well. Say 9 worlds split evenly among the three in the deep core?

With the site not working recently, I haven't had much chance to give an update on my progress. If you've been looking for updates of the 1st post, you already know that I finished Pride of Yevetha, and Enclosing Empires is almost complete! However, school just started and I don't have the same amount of time to work on these. I hope I'll be able to finish these before 2.1 is released ;)

Single player. say for one of the GCs, instead of his Praetor he gets the Night Hammer(possibly so I can use it without it being Daala)

Enclosing Empires has been finished, leaving only 1 more map to go! I'll try to finish Sovereign Showdown very soon, but seeing as I don't have as much time as I did before, it may take a little longer. I do feel like making a smaller map though, maybe just NR and IR.

Lucky for you, this is as basic as coding gets! All you have to do is go into Imperial_Remnant_Heroes.xml and find Delvardus' Praetor, and change the "variant of existing unit" from "Praetor" to "Knight_Hammer" and boom, Delvardus has the Knight Hammer :)

It would be better to make it a variant of Generic_Executor instead of Knight_Hammer. Making a variant of a variant doesn't always work very smoothly. If you're really concerned about having the darker skin you can just add the <Space_Model_Name> line from Knight Hammer's entry into it.

I'm fine with a generic SSD with the Stealth armor look. So if I understand this right, just use

If I'm understanding this right, then no. In Corey's case, you have change Delvardus' variant from Praetor to Generic_Executor and then find the Knight Hammer's space model name and add(or replace, not sure which) it to Delvardus' code. gl ;)

Excellent, I've always loved the Night Hammer but could do without Daala.

Sovereign showdown is almost done. I just have to code the units and fix any coding errors that bound to come :). Sorry that this map has been dragged out compared to the other two, just now that summer is over I don't have nearly as much time, and also I got really into RaW recently :).

One of my main problems with finishing this map is the units. For PA, I know atleast I'll have all the heroes, but I'm stuck on how I will balance out the other factions' fleets. Anyone know what fleets for each faction will match an only all hero fleet of the PA(Minus Gregor) while having an SSD in your fleet(except for EotH)?

I know what I'm going to do with the IR(now), but for the EotH and NR, a fleet composed of what would be balanced in effectiveness as an SSD, so i can double that fleet and add a Capital ship for EotH and and add the fleet to Wedge and a Mon Cal for NR.

Good news everyone, I will probably finish the map tommorow! Bad news, it's because I'm being hospitalized because of some kind of air bubble burst inside of me and its being absorbed by my body. So hopefully it'll just be for a day, but I'll have plenty of time on my hands :)

Today is a great day, as in I'm out of the hospital, and that I've completed all of the maps :D! I'll post a link here momentarily after I set up the new forum :)!
