Separatist holdouts
« on: April 09, 2018, 11:13:44 PM »
I was wondering how you would incorporate the remnants of the cis into the mod.

It is said that’s the empires first campaign was the reclamation of all separatist hold outs, so I was thinking that might be able to see a really weakened cis vs a young empire.

I know some of you are wondering how it would work due to most of the droid army being shut down well here’s a few reasons it could.

1. You could give the cis a militia like unit made up of non droids.

2. Some of these hold outs had some very large forces defending them; if you could for a push you could create break out of the pockets that they were forced into too

3. They still had a decent grip on the western reaches of the galaxy

Fall of the Republic will not proceed past the Mission to Mustafar.

No young Empire

No Separatist Holdouts

I'm not opposed to the idea of a post-clone wars GC in general (just look at my mod), but in a mod called "Fall of the Republic", why involve something that doesn't involve the Republic?

Edit: Also Corey has stated FoTR will not go past the Mission to Mustafar.

Cis are technically a republic if you think about it.

We are not talking about A republic, we are talking about THE Republic.
there is a difference between r and R there.
Because the mod's focus will be on the Fall of the Republic, it wouldn't be a good idea to make GCs where the Republic has already fallen.
It would be counterproductive to say the least.

I have to agree with the Devs here. If you want Empire related content, play ICW. The only Empire related content in this mod should be the Victory Class Star Destroyer, if indeed canon allows. I know Republic at War has it available to the Republic at Tier 5, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. Then again I don't know anything outside the first six movies in canon, and a bit of reading I've done from Wookiepedia regarding the Imperial Civil War after Endor. I'm looking forward to this mod because it focuses on The Republic and CIS. I only pray that once they finish it, they will tweak the Vanilla game (EaW, but in FoC) to include the features they incorporate into their awesome mods. Maybe 3 BBY till Battle of Endor to complete the saga. My life would be freaking complete at that point and I will be happy to die. Any talk of this happening Dev team? I don't imagine it would take a huge amount of work given alot of it would be copy pasting what you have already done. Would love to play the Empire with Vader and the Emperor but with ICW features and planet numbers, and not the abysmal excuse of a game EaW turned out to be. Though I don't really know what they could do regarding "era" changes. As it seems things were pretty stagnant in this period. Would still love it regardless. From the Prequels to ICW? A man can dream.

Let us ask ourselves what an early empire would require that ICW doesn't already have.

In terms of ships, excepting the original T.I.E fighter, I'd say everything is there. The PA roster is pretty much the first decade after Mustafar. Which leaves heroes.

The CIS roster probably wouldn't change post New Order Declaration... which means they're the same.

Factor in the mission editor, and you could probably create a GC or two on your own quite easily.
Give it a few years, and a small official GC might come out... give it time, and see what the first versions are like.  ;)

Agreed.  Other than GC's and a few heroes that hadn't defected to alliance yet that would be different, there's nothing IMO that would make a early galactic empire desirable in this mod.
People should not be afraid of their government...governments should be afraid of their people.
