How to summon heroes in Ascendancy?

Hello, I'm new to the Ascendency Mod (seems pretty good so far) but I do not know how to summon the heroes like Han Solo or Admiral Akbar. I researched the correct tech, but I don't see where to summon them.

You summon them at the command center which is present on your home planet when you start the game if you have heroes enabled in the game setup options.

Hmmm that must be it, I probably forgot to enable the heroes as I look everywhere and see no command center. I'll try that out, thank you.
