First Order's Origins?
« on: February 11, 2018, 10:22:39 AM »
What do you guys think made the First Order from Jakku to TFA? I love Rae Sloanes character and since she's involved with the FO I really want to get some more story on her. Also I wanna know how Kylo Ren joined and how Snoke came to power (leave your 'Snoke is ...' theories at the door please.).

I think they "hide" in the unknown regions and build there fleet there and so they reorganized into the first order. Snoke maybe was found by the remannts in the unknown regions and join them because at this time they maybe dont had an leader and how kylo  joint them... i dont know

Most of what was left of the Empire that entered the Unknown Regions were fanatics and sociopaths. It wouldn't surprise me if Hux Senior established a Coup against Rae because she wasn't as... "devoted" to the Imperial cause as they were.

I totally agree with this. To expand on this further maybe Snoke uses the Dark Side to further influence Brendel (as u call him, "Hux senior") by giving him his support, and then convincing him to lead the First Order after the coup.

While I'm giving the new canon a chance, a lot of it is really just massive plot holes, like the First Order forming from the weak remnants of the Empire, somehow finding enough resources and power to conquer the entire galaxy in a couple weeks and build a super death star that destroys the entire republic fleet of 12 ships and insta-kills any form of protection the galaxy had except for the 4 ship powerful resistance, which then got blown up, so now the fate of the galaxy relies on 12 guys in the falcon.

I'm sure 'the allies scattered in the outer rim' are really op though too.

Current Canon is pretty trash at the moment to be honest, excluding Rogue One and imo Kylo Ren. Everything else is really just poo in the loo to me, especially the stuff post endor pre episode 7.

I can accept how they got their soldiers, which involved giving kidnapped children a more luxurious life as a imperial soldier as opposed to remaining poor on whatever backwater planet they use to live on. The rest was brainwashing them into believing that the New Republic was an evil organization. Supposedly Starkiller base started construction as an Imperial project before the Frist Order took over. However, where they got over 30 RSD’s from, plus however many Mandator IV’s will probably never be a good explanation. They ether built them on Snoke’s ship, built them on a shipyard they either found or made themselves, or outsourced them, and each of those ideas sounds more preposterous than the last. That being said though, I think Snoke’s ship might have been a creation of his own, before he found the IR, which I would be ok with if we ever find out more about Snoke himself, because supposedly, the Supremacy was the FO’s capital.

It cant be since it incoporates docking for resurgent class star destroyers, which were an imperial creation

Simple.
Bad writing, virtually no development and zero originality. That's the Origins of the First Order

I've not read any of the new canon books that are post-Endor, but I've seen the new movies - so I have no idea at all what the First Order's origins are. ;) Doesn't really bother me though.  Superpowered forces coming out of nowhere is an old Star Wars trope, and at this point I'm pretty cool with it showing up.

Really? Everyone is going to blame it on story telling? Cant we just guess what we are going to get? If you are going to say "ewwww i wont make theories about it because there are no origins made by the movies" then this subforum isn't for you.

So i repeat: What do you guys think made the First Order from Jakku to TFA? I love Rae Sloanes character and since she's involved with the FO I really want to get some more story on her. Also I wanna know how Kylo Ren joined and how Snoke came to power (leave your 'Snoke is ...' theories at the door please.).

We are complaining because it Is bad writing. And the 30 gap does not help since we dont know what acutally going on in the galaxy

Look, we have a 30 year gap with virtually no back-story, a swarm of rushed books and media(some of which are already retconning one another) an organization that is identical to the Empire in all but name, a Resistance identical to the Rebellion in all but name and a galaxy where absolutely no  world building has been done. This is why I call it on bad world building and writing. I can't get invested in the state of affairs with the galaxy when those stakes are never made clear.

Yeah you can't really deny that there's just a major hole where some plot should be, but on the other hand it's probably so they could recast the old actors as themselves.  Don't forget that TFA was marketed as the return of Star Wars, and a large part was the returning cast.

On one hand, I want to see movies or content that takes place in between, but it sounds like nothing really happened after Jakku, or nothing that could be movie worthy.

Well there's books about the topic already (Empire's end, etc) but I doubt we'll see a mainline movie about the era.  Maybe an anthology piece like Rogue one?

I have heard of the books but I want a connection in the last movie on the origin of the first order from the warlords getting all together
