Some non obvious heroes for the CIS (Unusual Suspects)
« on: January 20, 2018, 01:03:33 AM »
No beating around the bush, just gonna get straight too it, just a list of the "unusual suspects."
It's likely that some of these heroes are planned of the mod, and that would be super cool if they are, the beauty of FOTR being based on ICW's era system allows for a more diverse cast of heroes than other mods.

1. Sev'rance Tann / Vandalor
Of the acolytes, she's probably the least likely to make it, at least that's what I think. She was the general of the CIS and leader of the Dark Acolytes for a month, she was killed by a Jedi who then exiled himself. After her death, Grevious and Ventress took her roles respectively. So, she'd be a neat Era 1 / Era 2 hero. Her lover Vandalor, lasted a year longer than her, he was a bounty hunter and Wat Tambor's body guard. He had a jetpack and some strange lance that also worked as a blaster. He was killed by Anakin on Metalorn.

2. Dua Ningo
This dude was a threat, he almost got the CIS to Coruscant, without Palpatine's help. An elder Sullustan, he defeated the Republic blockade at Foerost using the Bulwark fleet stationed there. He then put the beating on the Republic in Sector Zero, and was going to hit the Coruscant until Captians Jan Dodonna and Terrinald Screed, with the help some factory new Victory I's ended him, and his campaign over Anaxes. I feel like Ningo and his Bulwark fleet could be the stars of a mini GC, something like the Black Fleet Crisis.

3. Pors Tonith
The last of my unusuals, Pors was a Muun admiral, who viewed himself a superior strategist than Grevious, and as Dooku's favored "minion." In actuality, he did have a brilliant mind for warfare, questioning orders from Dooku himself that he thought weren't tactically sound. He was captured by Anakin in what was thought to be a suicide attack by the jedi. He's here because I think the CIS could be a little weak in space when it comes to heroes, that being said though, he does represent the Banking Clan, which means that he'd most likely be in a Muunificent, arguably diminishing his usefulness a bit.

That's my little wish list for now, I'd like to hear some thoughts on these 4, and if anyone has any other "unusual suspects" for the CIS that you'd like to see for FOTR.

We'll be doing a full news post with the CIS and Republic heroes for the first version fairly soon, but I will say now that these three are all on the CIS roster.

These are actually very interesting suggestions and I personally would like to see Sev'rance again.

Glad to see Sev'rance Tann get some love. She was a way more interesting concept for a CIS general than the overused Grevious tbh.

Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well...

I can respect a being who does not let emotional attachment dictate his actions, but rather a sense of propriety and personal honor to avenge an insult. The fact that he is the only member of his family NOT to beg for mercy also has my admiration.

Yay! We get the Chiss hero.
All your words are but to say: you are a woman, and your part is in the house. But when the men have died in battle and honour, you have leave to be burned in the house, for the men will need it no more. But I am of the House of Eorl and not a serving-woman. I can ride and wield blade, and I do not fear either pain or death.

But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Éowyn I am, Éomund's daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.

I always did like Tann, even if she was short lived, I found her interesting and it's nostalgic to bring the old Battlegrounds heroine out again.

The problem is see down the line is that eventually both the republic and the separatist will have way to many hero requests. I like these options, but i also would like to possible see these characters I am about to mention for other reasons.

Pre-Vizla: During the early days of the clone wars Death Watch was a ally of the separatists, until Dooku turnned on them. Vizla used dual Mandaolrian blasters, a jetpack, and the Darksaber. He would fit well as a a early era 1 hero giving the Seps access to Death Watch troops.

Cad Bane: Bane is one of the more cooler parts of the Clone Wars TV show. He is known for alot of unqiue and creaitve weapons and the fact that he can duel Jedi and win. He was a afflict of the Separatists for jobs including the plan to capture the chancelior. He may also be a great hero for the Hutts if they are added as a faction and he may also be a cool Post-Order 66 hero for the Empire(assuming we do have that in the mod)

Bossk: like Bane he can be a on again off again hero for the Seps and the Hutts(should they be added)

Captain Tarkin: I say around the time Phase 3s are introduce Tarkin should be introudce and give him the Excutrix by the end of the war.

One final question: how will you guys handle Darth Maul?

I would love Cad Bane as a CIS hero!

I like Tarkin as a late Era hero, and Bane could work as a recruitable CIS hero. (He's a bounty hunter, of course you'd pay for his services.)

I'm not really passionate either way about Maul or the Mandolorians appearing in FOTR, I personally would like to see more of the non-Clone Wars TV show material, but that's just me.

I'm so happy Sev'rance tann is coming to the mod. I love her character. Such a intresting idea, plus the idea of a chiss Jedi is such a awesome idea. Makes me think of playing galactic battlegrounds.
