In like of the fact Disney is pulling all star wars content (Including The Clone Wars) form Netflix,  I decided I would binge watch the episodes over a period of three weeks. This thread is dedicated to one of my favorite star wars things when I was a kid. I loved the Clone Wars and I was more invested in it than most of the movies. Please share memories of the show, and what you liked. Its a little depressing its leaving Netflix on the seventh of October and even worse, i have now buy Disney's subscription service if i want to watch it.

So here is my story.
I grew up with the show. I remember almost every episode and have memories of a lot of the characters. It made me laugh, it sometimes scared me, and sometimes made me cry. I recall how cool it was watching Pon Krell fight the 501st and 212. I loved the Darth Maul episodes watching him rise back to a position of being a actual threat to the galaxy. I remember me being creeped out by the mind control worms from season 2. I remember Cad Bane, who is actually pretty kickass. I also loved to watch the relationships and romance of characters, whether its Ashoka and Lux, or Obi Wan and Duchess Satine. I remember all the fantastic lightsaber fights like, Sidous vs Maul and Savage, or Ventress vs Savage vs Dooku, and Pre Vizla vs Maul. I remember all the dope ass bounty hunter episodes, and Story lines like Umbara, or Mortis. I remember Tarkin, Gregor, EVERYTHING!

So i must ask.
What is your favorite moments from the show, and what are your memories of it?

Differs drastically from yours, but then, I was already rather older when it came out.

I remember watching the first 4-5 episodes, and not being able to think anything other than "WHAT IS THIS ABSOLUTE DRIBBLE GARBAGE!!!"  Then never watched another episode.

Same as tlmiller, except I made the effort to watch all of them lately. That confirmed what I suspected, most are awful, just a dozen episodes are watchable (of about 120 !). I'm gld I didn't grew up with them. Watch Genndy Tartakovsky's CW Cartoon, that's poetry and it didn’t treat the audience like children, instead using a sophisticated array of cinematic technique to convey complex themes without being blatant.

But I can still mention my favorite moments :
 - S4E12-13 : Infiltration of Anakin into a slave organisation
 - S5E15 : The duel between Pre Vizsla and Maul (sure not as magnificient as the Anakin/Ventress duel on Yavin IV but still a good asymetrical combat)

there are good and bad moments. but many parts are better than the Garbage disney has been feeding us.

i'm 16, so i also "grew up" with them. my favorites... the Maul Mandalore arc, Mortis arc, and Onderon where some of my personal favorites. also the You have been replaced! (s5ep16) that duel: really cool, but kinda unrealistic. if I had been Sidious, i would have gone ahead and abolished the rule of 2 then and started a massive expansion of the sith, adding Maul, Savage, and later Anakin, but i digress. overall, not the best set of SW content, but still parts are enjoyable
do you know what really makes me mad? that the NR didn't make as many different SSDs as the empire. they would have won much faster had they done so. it's just not fair. but, if their were more NR SSDs, they would be absolute SUPER-CARRIERS.

but, i'm a member of the PA at heart, and my wish here is to join the ranks of grand admirals... sorry, the elite imperial alignment

It has it's moments, pretty much anything with Obi Wan quipping, the brotherhood between Anakin and Obi Wan felt way more natural and fitting in the series than the films. It has some good fights and there are some decidedly nice tribute episodes to the EU, but that said it has more than it's share of bad ones too. The nerfs to Grievous to where he's just a bumbling oaf with little strategic ability and often getting bested by Jedi even a padawan on occasion then BEATEN by GUNGANS and Ventress...the Dooku captured episode was also ludicrous.

Ventress is actually more capable then grievous imo because she was train as a sith apprentice and a Nightsister, compared to Greivous who is train as a not only a general, but trained to use light sabers, while I agree he nerfed I do think he has his moments such as the Lair of Gerivous episode where he decimated Kit Fisto's Squad in his lair, the battle off Damothmir(Specifically) when he was fighting the undead Night Sisters, when he attack Kenobi's Fleet during the Younglings episode. I also like to point out that the Gugans had disable his army, and Griveous is very Arrogant sometimes, but he also was surrounded he was probably going to lose that anyway. Apparently according to what was suppose to be in season 6-7 Gerivous would have got his Armor from the CW Cartoon and more training from Dooku to tie it into that cartoon and also why his armor changes between the Cartoon and episode 3. He was also suppose to fight Darth Maul and not only win, but kill mother Talzin for good. A lot of this is in the new Cannon comic Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir.

Ohh and the thing with Dooku captured, I cant really argue that, but I think maybe Dooku had a plan or something.

I don't know, he came off as more goofy than threatening, and Ventress while she has the Force is far weaker in terms of strength, styles and Dooku tutored them both but gave Grievous more diversity in forms than Asajj. He should have bested her easily.

I mean keep in mined I don't think its that big of a deal because its just how George wanted the show since he helped write the show and may suggestions on how characters are and how factions should be. That is why the show retcons a lot of stuff, it is because that was how George wanted it. I mean keep in mind Obi Wan and Ventress fought Maul and Savage who are arguably more powerful then Gervious. I mean keep in mind she was also beefed up with Night sister. magic.

I do think though that its good that the Commandos(Boss, Fixer Sev, etc since they appeared in that one Savage episode) are still cannon. Maybe one day we can do something with them again, and in fact in the original version of the Citadel arc they were going to be sent in along with Echo, Fives, Rex, Cody, and the jedi to rescue Tarkin.

I also deeply didn't like how much they lowered Dooku as a power. His level is supposed to be FAR above Ventress and Savage. He's certainly FAR more powerful than Maul but you seldom get a feeling Dooku is in the top 5 of the most powerful Force users in the galaxy. He fought Mace to a draw, held his ground against Yoda, constantly took both Anakin and Obi Wan in the EU but throughout CW he is barely a match for Obi Wan and Anakin always out of breath and on the defensive. The fact he was barely able to stave off Savage and Ventress staggered me.

of course, i think a lot of the Jedi got nerfed, but he does have his over powered moments. he was fending of both Ventress and savage, and he was more moved to strategic planner then Dark side power house

i kinda wish they hadn't cancelled the last 2 1/2 seasons, as it was supposed to to straight into EP3 and Ahsoka

He does actually kick Anakin's ass many times. the two examples I remember were the episode where he a Dooku fought on Naboo and he was captured and traded for Gervious, the other time was also on Naboo during the Bounty hunter final episode where he almost killed Anakin Had Obi Wan not interfered.

I also think Dooku only survived that fight with Ventress and Savage for two reasons:
1. He trained them so he knows how to fight them and exploit how they fight
2. Savage betrayed Ventress. it turn from a 2v1 to a 1v1v1.

2. Savage betrayed Ventress. it turn from a 2v1 to a 1v1v1.

I'd disagree, in both duels with Anakin Dooku is shown to hold his own for a time but gradually be overpowered by Anakin in one on one combat. In the first Naboo fight he's got the four Magna guards with him and only attacks Anakin between blows from the Droids and still seems tired after. In the second duel Anakin effortlessly destroys the Magna Guards and then forces Dooku back the entire duel, even knocking the Count down and gripping his throat. Dooku hits him with lightning throwing Anakin off but again looks like it took a lot out of him and kept retreating the entire time.

With Ventress and Savage it should have been far more one sided. Savage is strong but clumsy, Ventress is about Knight level and fast but not particularly strong physically. They were both taught by Dooku and their tactics didn't work off each other at all. Remember how Dooku PLAYED with Anakin and Obi Wan in Episode II. defeating them both with relative ease? CW Dooku always fought retreating actions and when we did see him in battle it often didn't reflect well on him. While we do see him defeat a group of Nightsisters after being poisoned, NONE but Ventress had ever USED a lightsaber before then and they were fighting the Order's greatest swordsman! The fact he didn't land a SINGLE disabling blow in that duel is just ridiculous. The Nightsister voodoo thing was particularly embarrassing and the "Son of Dathomir" comic just keeps him from doing anything of real worth. I just feel it's sad that Dooku is one of both the strongest in Force power and one of the greatest duelists in the galaxy and he's constantly lowered to give competitive aspects to people far below him in ability.

The Anakin/Dooku duels are non-sense if you consider the movies. That's for that they created Ventress (and also Durge), to provide a opponent to Anakin that is dangerous but that Anakin can fight and defeat to gain experience. The fight in RotS make no sense if Anakin and Dooku clashed every week during the CW.

Yes I agree with this completely. The phrase, "My powers have doubled since we last met Count." always bothered me because of how often they clash in both the CW and the brief exchange in Labyrinth of Evil which takes place right before Episode III, which means Anakin doubled his power in less than a week. It works if the last time they fought was Geonosis or even once early in the CW, but he faces Dooku twice on Naboo, once on a ship, and once on Zygaria all AFTER he was knighted so presumably halfway through the CW at least. Dooku also shouldn't have been close to the front lines nearly as much, he was busy keeping the CIS together, fomenting dissent and recruiting Dark Jedi to serve as his proxies. Like you pointed out that was the entire point of Ventress, Durge and Grievous(and to a lesser extent Sora Bulq and his cadre of Dark Jedi), they fought FOR Dooku so he didn't have to. In this way they still kept Dooku as a high standard far above these antagonists while still giving the heroes foes to improve against to eventually REACH Dooku's level by Ep III.
However with CW we get Dooku routinely getting in fights and having trouble with fighters that should be FAR below his skill and power set. The Nightsisters that attack him minus Ventress have never fought with sabers before and they are facing the best duelist of his generation, Ventress and Savage are both much weaker and inexperienced than Dooku. Anakin -while having lots of raw power was countered early on by Dooku's experience and finesse, but we don't see this in CW.

I mean Dooku wouldn't also mind getting his hands dirty, and he is smart.
Dooku knew Rako Hardine was acutally Obi-Wan and he set it up so all seemed well when really it wasn't.
But I can understand the whole problem of shouldn't Dooku be pulling the strings. Technically he is. He stops a possible peace negotiations between the confederacy and the republic by having Grievous interfere. Other times he just needed to get his hands dirty. Which why I like how Director Krennic, and Thrawn in cannon is more willing to get his hands dirty compared to other commanders like Rae Sloane, Moff Tarkin, and General Hux. I Like when you see Krennic actually go out himself to capture Galen Erso, instead of sending his death troopers alone. Same with Thrawn, he personally led the ground assault on the rebels, with his own death troopers.

And taking unnecessary risks ? No that's not what I expect from a clever Navy commander. The place of such character is on the bridge of capital ship except if you want to make him look stupid. The EU's Thrawn would not have faced a force user without a Ysalamari and any other potential ennemy without an overwhelming tactical advantage. Troy Denning have also done that to a lesser extent before Rebels but that's still anoying. For Krennic, it's a little different. He has to act, the Rebels should be stopped at all cost and it even make sense to jeopardize his life if that can make a difference.

I am sorry but what?
Thrawn did that in the EU as well(just not as much). He has fought people in ground battles before and he plans ahead in those scenarios.
