(Cannon) A new spin on the rogue squadron

So I know the legends Rogue Squadron is never getting a replacement, but what about a new spin on the idea.

So instead of being a team of rebel pilots, they are a team of Rebel defectors who join the Empire after a incident involving the death of Millions of incident people. This could be set after Endor. They would be a true Rouge Squadron and fly BLACK and red striped X-Wings.

why I do I want this? it would just be different from other ideas like a obi wan movie or a boba fett movie. I also want more Imperial movies. Rouge one actually made me root for Director Krennic since he was a pretty decent person even though he committed evil acts. I also want to see the battle of Jakku in the movies(it should have been the first ten minute opening of TFA)

what is your opinion on the idea? is it dumb? is it cool? Am I just wasting my time(yeah I am ) ?

I thought I saw somewhere that they planned to use Rogue Squadron in some capacity, and their name would obviously be inspired by Rogue One. But that could've just been a speculation channel I was watching, god those channels are not good.

Wedge's actor declined to come back for Episode 8, so I doubt it. But if they're inspired by Rogue One I would call them a bunch of fanboys who don't understand good characters.

Ontopic I hate this idea because I want a Darth Vader 3 hour movie involving Tarkin, Palpatine, Boba, and Thrawn. Civil War "movie as a novel" style.

I don't think they really need Wedge's actor to do anything. They can just write wedge out of it. Plus it doesn't have to be for episode 8, it can be for the stuff between episodes 4 5 and 6.

Yeah because the greater movie going audience doesn't already know about Rogue Squadron. So at that point they can do whatever they want with it. Plus the actor is old and probably not suited for filming an action movie.

If you want an Imperial fighter squadron movie why not make a 181st movie chronicling how Soontir transforms the squad into the menace it was. That would be way better IMO.

I wish I could go back in time and relearn English, my spelling is just terrible. But that's the result when the education system thinks you have a speech/hearing/learning impediment but in all reality its just English is my second language! (plus being slightly behind on learning words)
