Viscount-class Star Defender

The Warlords and Imperials have these great big SSDs that are so powerful, if they are supported with other ISDs or frigates they are practically impossible to encounter unless you have an extremely large fleet. I'm 99% sure this is in legends (I don't know much about legends) so it most likely passes that barrier. It was a 17 km long Mon Calamari Cruiser. The main reason I'd like to see this ship appear in the game is because the NR doesn't have ships (excusing the Home One-Type) designed for countering SSDs.

The Viscount-class Star Defender is already in the game, in its full glory. It only becomes available to the New Republic in Era 5, however. In full ICW 2.2 though, I think it would become possible to get the Viscount earlier through research, but I'm not sure.

Also, starting from Era 3 and onwards, the NR gets to use the Lusankya, an Executor-class Star Dreadnought, that has been "borrowed" from the Empire, and is commanded by Wedge Antilles.

In addition according to the Era 3 news post, NR players will have access (in multi era galactic conquests) to the Lusankya as mentioned, and once you progress to the second half of Era 3 (Crimson Empire / Canor Jax / the Warlords once again) you will be able to research the Viscount, now free of Soverigns and the Eciplse to one shot it.

Remember, the Viscount is an extremely powerful too, it's why it's always absolute late game for the NR in both version of Thrawn's Revenge.

Planetary Ion Cannon. The final word in SSD demolishing.

Much to my annoyment as NR, three of the IR leaders impaled themselves on it in course of a year (gametime)..... AI need a script or something to make them warier of assaulting a world that has a super weapon like HV gun, Plasma Gun, or Planetary Ion Cannon.....

other than Eclipse/Sovereign, the Viscount is the most powerful unit in the game, having the Executor/Vengeance firepower + superior Mon Calamari shielding/armor, and the poweful NR fighters, plus it looks amazing. i mean, who doesn't like space whales? this is one of my favorite ships for a reason.
do you know what really makes me mad? that the NR didn't make as many different SSDs as the empire. they would have won much faster had they done so. it's just not fair. but, if their were more NR SSDs, they would be absolute SUPER-CARRIERS.

but, i'm a member of the PA at heart, and my wish here is to join the ranks of grand admirals... sorry, the elite imperial alignment
