Bothan Assault Cruiser VS Dauntless

Similar DPS and durability, radically different abilities. Which do you all think is better?

Dauntless is better looking so I vote it.  I'm 90% certain the Bothan actually is more powerful.

Well the Bothan has an ability which destroys a ship no matter its current health at a certain percentage of its health.  If the A.I. used it correctly that could give it a distinct advantage.  But the Dauntless is definitely more tanky, that's for sure.  Plus it can focus more damage in one direction, whereas the Bothan is better suited for the middle of a confrontation (not at the sides - so it can maximize it's damage potential).  At least that was my understanding when I looked into it quite a while back.

I need to check the fighters, as that might make it or break it for me. B-Wings > X-Wings.

Dauntless only has X and Y. Not sure what BACs have, but it should be a more modern complement. BACs are the high damage units for me while Dauntless serves more as a tank. I've held a few in defensive fleets along with MC-40a's and they hold out pretty well until a main force can arrive.

BACs have access to everything, X, A, and B wings. 2 B wings per BAC ain't all that bad.

What's the max fighter complement on the Assault Cruiser?  Like you said that would seem to make it or break it, unless a more defensive strategy is your thing.

Well as it turns out the Dauntless can only field a single X-Wing or Y-Wing, unless X-Wings cost less fighter supply then Y-Wings.

I read somewhere that they were supposed to but in the version I played all fighters and bombers cost the same it looked like.  Very odd and probably will be fixed I hope.
