2.2 Faction Profile: The Greater Maldrood
« on: October 21, 2016, 05:25:51 PM »

The Greater Maldrood & Federated Teradoc Union

Leaders: Treutan Teradoc (4-12 ABY), Kosh Teradoc (8-12 ABY)
Capital: Centares (4-8 ABY), Hakassi (8-12 ABY)

The Greater Maldrood was established by self-styled High Admiral of the Mid Rim Treutan Teradoc directly after the Battle of Endor. While it never reached the size of Teradoc's neighbouring rival Empire, that of Warlord Zsinj, it turned out to be one of the most enduring of the Warlord states. Teradoc found himself constantly engaged in border skirmishes with both Zsinj to the North and the Hutts to the Southeast, but it was not until he attempted to expand to the Gordian Reach (the territory around Yavin) in the wake of Zsinj's defeat that he managed to attract the attention of the increasingly powerful New Republic.

The Imperial and New Republic forces which had aligned against Zsinj turned their attention to Maldrood, beginning a three-way war between Rogriss, Ackbar and Teradoc. Teradoc managed to defeat the advancing Rogriss at Feriae Junction, causing Zsinj's former supporters to flock to Maldrood. The New Republic campaign, however, was far more successful. Facing the destruction of his empire, Treuton turned to his brother Kosh Teradoc who had his own Deep Core holdings to assist him, combining their territory and forces into the Federated Teradoc Union. Together they managed to avoid the total disintegration experienced by Zsinj's holdings, although they were relegated to a much smaller portion of their territory. The Union participated in Palpatine's campaigns, and both brothers managed to survive the conflict yet again, having even attracted the brilliant commander Gilad Pellaeon to act as their Commander-in-Chief, although Treutan quickly became embroiled in a war with Zero Command. Treutan was killed along with Sander Delvardus of the Eriadu Authority and Blizter Harrsk of Zero Command at Tsoss Beacon by Daala, who aimed to reunite the Imperial warlords, ending the Maldrood presence in the core. Kosh managed to survive another year after Tsoss, deeply embittered by the death of his brother, until Wraith Squadron organized a mission to save a scientist being held by Teradoc, killng the admiral and dissolving Maldrood.

Around 5 ABY, Moff-turned-pirate Leonia Tavira, leader of the Invids, cooperated with both Treutan and Kosh in order to gain more power and materiel for herself. As a result, with Tavira present Maldrood will be able to build pirate outposts, giving them access to some pirate units.

Keep in mind unit lists aren't necessarily final. With both Maldrood and Eriadu in particular, there's some stuff (including vehicles, ships and infantry) we may end up doing but we're trying to focus on getting the already-planned things done.

Space Unit Roster
Bellator (Kuat and Fondor only)
ISDI, ISDII, Tector, Secutor, Allegiance, Sorannan
Providence, Procursator, Crimson Command VSDII, Neutron Star, Immobilizer
Arquitens, Gladiator, Ton-Falk, Crusader Corvette, Interceptor IV, Customs Corvette
Unique Fighters: ARC-170, Clutch Uglies

Ground Unit Roster
AT-AT, A9 Floating Fortress,
AT-PT, AAT, T-16, SPMAT, TX-130, AT-AP
Bantha II, ISP
Stormtroopers, Shock Troopers, Jump Troopers, E-Web, Specialist

Just like he did with Warlord Zsinj, Corey will be doing another preview playthrough with Maldrood on his channel, so subscribe there if that's something you're interested in seeing. The Zsinj playthrough should be concluding in this coming week, so the Maldrood one will likely start going up the week after that.

Yay my idea for arc 170s was used.
questions:
1 are the arc 170s bombers or fighters?
2 does the bellator thing apply to pentastar too?
3 How come it doesn't list the prosecutor, gladiator, and Kadelbe?

MUST PLAY MALDROOD AT LAUNCH

1 are the arc 170s bombers or fighters?

They're a mix like the X-wing, but more towards bomber.

2 does the bellator thing apply to pentastar too?
Probably not, if you mean the more limited build requirements.

3 How come it doesn't list the prosecutor, gladiator, and Kadelbe?

Procursator and Gladiator must have been cut off when I was copying, fixed. Kedalbe isn't there because they're not getting it.

Hey remember on stream when you said IG88 blew up on the death star? Well yes and no. here quote from the wookieepedia

However, IG-88A was not finished. The droid's body was found on Mechis III by an individual and reprogrammed. Without his violent consciousness, IG-88A was nothing more than a drone.[15] Within a few months after the Battle of Endor, IG-88A was in the businessman Barpotomous Drebble's possession. The droid, along with the Trandoshan bounty hunter Bossk, stayed on the planet Keyorin, where he was often seen in Drebble's tavern alongside his master.[16]
Later in 4 ABY, Drebble's nemesis Lando Calrissian entered the tavern. Eager to get his revenge for a variety of past slights, Drebble had IG-88A, Bossk, and his Stenax guards chase Calrissian and his friends Han Solo and Chewbacca, while Drebble ran to Calrissian's ship, the Millennium Falcon, hoping to cut him off. Drebble reached the Millennium Falcon before Calrissian and tied up the businessman, planning to steal his ship and drop Calrissian off on Drebble's homeworld, although he had a change of heart when Calrissian presented him with the valuable Dancing Goddess statue. However, the group was suddenly threatened by gang members, who wished to interrogate Calrissian to learn the location of the Dancing Goddess. Solo and Chewbacca were able to distract the gangsters, enabling Drebble's guards to fire on them. A Near-Duros was killed by IG-88A in the skirmish, and the gangsters quickly surrendered, while Calrissian, Solo and Chewbacca left.[16] In 11 ABY, IG-88A hunted the former Imperial Guardsman Kir Kanos, who had a large bounty placed on his head by the Imperial Ruling Council.[17]

Leaders: Treutan Teradoc (4-12 ABY), Kosh Teradoc (8-12 ABY)

Teradoc has always been probably most notable for his control over Crimson Command, a fleet of red VSDIIs. While this will be a core part of his faction, I do want to address the idea that he formed Maldrood around Crimson Command. This has never been explicitly stated anywhere, and prior to Endor Crimson Command were under the direct control of Warlord Zsinj, so it's hard to imagine how what was essentially a core part of Zsinj's personal sector fleet would have immediately ended up in Maldrood. All we really know is that sometime between Return of the Jedi and Darksaber (12 ABY, or era 4), Teradoc acquired them. We're operating under the idea, for the purposes of the mod, that the time where this makes most sense to have happened is the aforementioned Battle of Feriae Junction, meaning we'll be using Crimson Command as a location-specific unit for both Zsinj and Teradoc.

A note on this. Teradoc got control of the Crimson Command by imprisoning Grand Moff Ambris Selit who was a Zsinj ally and the current Grand Moff whom Zsinj had stationed the fleet under. to quell rebel activity in his territory in exchange for the full allegiance to Zsinj. (how exactly Teradoc captured and imprisoned the Grand Moff is unknown, though he likely feigned loyalty and lured him into a trap meeting) Teradoc then used his rank and the forged cooperation of Selit to assume command over the Crimson Command. This is also what led to the bitter hatred between Zsinj and Teradoc and their endless skirmishes as Teradoc essentially stole Zsinj's ships out from under him while at the same time destabilizing his southern flank.

I just re-read Despoilers. They didn't get command from imprisoning Selit, they got command because they had commanded it under Zsinj and then broke off. Selit happened to be who they were breaking off from and imprisoned. Consider that part rescinded. I'd actually just added it earlier today since I was scanning Wookiepedia while editing and couldn't find some of my sources and assumed I was wrong... Turned out editing isn't a good idea.

Ah yes, that is right. The passage I recall was, "Teradoc then seized command of Crimson Command and imprisoned Grand Moff Selit of Maldrood earning the enmity of Warlord Zsinj" though i can't remember if it was from EGW or the wookie page before Despoilers was published...

Love the preview Corey. I look forward to the Sorannan star destroyer :D. But on a sadder note Its a shame my Space ARC cruiser suggestion wasn't implemented. And the Kedalbe got cut. Those are like my 2 favorite ships that aren't Empire Designed xD.

Yo how did you get terradoc under your profile?

For any image you want in your signature, right click the image, "copy image location." Then go to edit your profile, and in the signature section where you currently have text, paste the image url between two image tags.

For that Teradoc banner, it looks like this:

It's in the category of things we're considering for use somewhere, but because we ideally want to get the mod out at some point, not for this release. We're essentially at the point where we're locking down content additions (and even pruning stuff where it makes sense) and focusing on finishing what's already planned.

This was Moff Darcc Flagship.
This could help with the fact the Moff doesn't have to be a Galactic Hero only. He can be a space Hero
Great job on Maldrood you deserve a pat on the back and a drink for this.

What is Sorannan?

Sorannan is the EX-F, a dreadnought sized weapons and engines test bed, though I find it odd it's showing up with Maldrood...

That's backwards. The Sorannan is a class, and the EX-F was modified member of that class. There's no reason to believe the Sorannan-class was just the EX-F. If it was, it would just be called the EX-F and not get a class name. Considering we're going with the Tagge Battlecruiser = Sorannan-class Star Destroyer thing, since the descriptions match each other, the Tagge needs a class name, and the Sorannan needs a design, Maldrood is actually the most closely located to where they would have been more common.

Yeah I don't know the Sorannan class may be a Battlecruiser now.(Oh and I learn just a few hours ago that the Sorannan had a forward-looking Main gun that fired a Laser like A Super Laser but fired like a KEW Canon plus the Armor was as strong as the Death Stars armor and shields too) But originally it Was going to be the largest  Star Dreadnaught in the Empire but that was going to be in 100 years after The founded of the Empire. But yeah just the Battlecruiser one ok people.
