Rebels Season three thread
« on: September 24, 2016, 09:56:43 PM »
So.... the first episode aired. hmmmm........ very very mixed.
Key things:
1: Kanan is now able to see(sort of)
2: Ezra is a psychotic Murder(I mean come on wtf man he is crazy)
3: Their is a fleet called the seventh fleet which has something to do with Thrawn.
4: Thrawn is very smart(He immediately knew what was going on and is planning something)
5: Hera is a D*** to Ezra( she has no reason to be mad at him the Y-wings would have been destroyed if not for Ezra)
6: Thrawn is most likely going to engage the rebellion(or General Dodana fleet because they are a bigger threat)
7: Ezra is infested in that dark Holocron learning new things.(will play a role in the next Episode with Maul)
8: Ezra is not hitting on Sabine or Princess Leia.

The first episode is for the most part is just an exposition so there is not so much to talk about. They could've inroduced Thrawn better (in fact, they did it better in trailers and clips).

And, well, Hera is acting pretty bad to Ezra but imo it shows that they aren't just random guys harrasing empire anymore, but military organization that has less to do with personal heroism and more with discipline and obeying oders.
Ezra is not psychotic murderer by any means. He may gone too far forcing stormtroopers and AT-DP to fall but nothing more. But there is nothing bad or psychotic in it - rebels were cut off from escape, he dealed with the problem. Ofcourse rebels could've offered them to surrender but all they was doing is sitting behind cover watching Ezra doing things. As for deaths of imperials, well, how many died on Interdictor in second season? In legends it had near 3000 crew. So rebels are murderers now? This is the war, people die in war, surprise-surprise.

I agree. This is like people saying Luke's a psychotic murderer after shooting stormtroopers during their escape from the Death Star, blowing up said station and killing several local pirates on Jabba's Sail Barge. It's a fucking war, people die in it.

Well obviously the Rebels are murderers, brutal terrorists taking the lives of good men and women who are upholding the sovereign ideals of our grand New Order: Safety, Security, Justice and Peace for all its citizens. Yes these same treasonous forces who claim to respect the rights of all beings show their true colors in their actions against those who have CHOSEN to serve a government that will stand behind its promises to its populace. Enlist now to end the spread of this plague! Join the ranks of the jubilant throngs who dedicate their souls to the preservation of this glorious Empire that will endure for a thousand years!

I like how this turn into a thread on whether the Rebels are terrorists(which they are) or not.
I mean in the New cannon The Alderians built a death star from the remnants of the old one( Call them Friendly?)
And we are told that most loyal Imperials were executed by rebels leaders.
Rebels really are hypocrites Some are old confederacy members and others are old racist senators( that also sounds like the South in the civil War).( But the dangerous ones are the former Pirates, slavers, smugglers and bounty hunters)
Yet their organization complains that the empire is mistreating the outer rim worlds.
They were separatists and the Separatists attack and killed civilians.

Btw Did anyone notice that Agent Kallus seem to be very annoyed by the civilian Casualties?
People think this means he is the mole for the rebellion now after the thing on that ice moon.

Also Ezra is no longer hitting on any of the female characters like he use to.(Ex: Leia and Sabine)
However As Dave F. said Their age difference is not like 1-2 years. Ezra hit on her In season 1 a lot and also hit on Leia during those episodes.

best scene in the episode :)

It's funny how people call rebels "terrorists" despite that terrorism's definition is controversial topic itself. I, by myself, don't think they are terrorists. Insurgents - yes, not terrorists, terrorism is only the part of insurgency. Hypocrites? Not everyone. And honestly, I don't think that thinking one-dimentionaly about anything or anyone is a good thing.

Enlist now to end the spread of this plague! Join the ranks of the jubilant throngs who dedicate their souls to the preservation of this glorious Empire that will endure for a thousand years!

Only after abandonment of "rule through fear" principle (fear of our force, to be precise) and firing Tarkin :-P In fact, I'd like to remove even Palpatine. He provided a great idea of galaxy-wide empire, but his own intentions (at least in legends) a far from something I'd sympathize. Neither I sympathize rebels as I don't think their vision could produce anything worth for a galaxy.

"Not all of us were separatists" - remember that quote from Tarkin novel?

Nah, for me it looked more like don't like Thrawn then civilian casualties. I wouldn't discard the possibility of him growing more uncomfortable with empire's methods.

Mb we will se something in the future though I doubt it would add anything to show unless Ezra's love interest is killed (Ezra, stay away from Sabine!) to pull him farther to the dark side.

Eradiu is another story that is more complicated because Tarkin Was vey close with Paplatine.
Agent Kallus doesn't seem to  hate Thrawn but definitely knows him form before hand.
Btw He isn't the new Vulqirm, because he fought Saw Gerra a month before Yavin.
And I made a error earlier I meant to say that Ezra and Sabine Are only 1-2 years apart. Plus if she died Ezra would be enrage and probably kill those top ranking imperial officials like Admiral Constantine, Kallus, Thrawn, and Pryce. If Ezra grew worse when Kannan  was blinded how would he feel if he got Sabine killed?
Btw Deathwatch are terrorists so the fact they are in means Terrorists....
