3DS Questions

I wasn't quite sure where to put this, so if moving it is necessary please do so.

Since classes are ending for the semester and I'll have nothing to do over the summer I figured I should play around with some model stuff. I have heard that the alo exporter only works up to 3DS Max 9, however that appears to be no longer available on their list of available downloads. So I guess my question would be what version of Max should I get?

EaW at the moment, but I'd like to keep my options open for other stuff if possible.

With that you need Max 8 or 9. If you have a student email address of any sort though, you can get a Max/Maya license for 3 years which you could use to get the hang of the program.

So basically if I want to make models for EaW I'm screwed because they don't offer 9 anymore. That's a pain. I'll still play around with it though for sure.

Well I suppose this figures. Tried to load Max 2017, the install corrupts and now I can't uninstall it. Stupid Windows 10

EDIT: And after 4+ hours I think I finally got everything uninstalled :\
