Shield strength of SSDs?
« on: September 10, 2015, 04:03:21 PM »
Hello, I was looking today at the different super star destroyers, and noticed that the Eclipse has less weapon power than a standard Executor. (Makes sense I suppose because it has the super laser) but one thing I wasn't sure about was how powerful the shields are in comparison to one another? Is there a way I could look at that? Can the Eclipse for instance take a good bit more damage than a regular SSD?

 Thank you for the help, and sorry if this question has already been answered before. :)

The Sovereign has fewer weapons than the Executor, the Eclipse (Palpatine's personal ship in era 3) has equal guns to an Executor.  As for the shields/hull, not a clue.

Hmm, Really? When I read the faction guide that explains the weapons on each ship it says the following;

Executor:
Armament: 540/54 Turbolaser, 540/54 Heavy Turbolaser, 200/20 Ion Cannon, 100/10 Concussion Missile

Eclipse:
Armament: 540/54 Turbolaser, 340/34 Heavy Turbolaser, 100/10 Ion Cannon, Gravity Well Generator, Axial Superlaser

I am still fairly new to the mod so perhaps I am misreading the information, but wouldn't that make the Eclipse a good bit weaker than the Executor in long term, multi-target combat?

Any help with shield strength is also greatly appreciated still :)

All right, I looked into the XMLs for you and found the following:
An Executor-class has 40310 shield points.
a Sovereign-class has 22910.
The Eclips has 28710.
