Bleh...never been impressed with the comics.  Way over what I'd be willing to pay for it.

Outrage at the discontinuation. I already own most of the good ones but it's beside the point. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually do something like this to the Legends Prints.

Agreed I'll miss the chance to buy those random ones that I never thought of buying, also missing legacy still which sucks. I hope they don't go that route with the old books, I'm still trying to acquire a lot of them, and can't afford to buy them all the way I did with this sale.

During the course of my moving around a lot I've gathered a lot of duplicates in my copies of most of my books and comics. If any in particular you seek, mention them to me and I might be able to help out.

Thanks I'll remember that, comics wise any series you recommend? I've read Rebellion, Empire, Rogue squadron, Dark empire, Crimson empire, and the two Mara Jade ones.

Read Legacy! While not perfect, it is incredibly ambitious as a series. In fact, my greatest criticism of the series was that it introduced too many interesting characters and didn't run long enough to have nearly enough time for everyone. Imp Knights are awesome, samurai Jedi return, Gar Stazi and Roan Fel are among the best characters in the entire EU in their class (fleet commander and statesman).

Agreed, I've read through about half of the first set of legacy I'm in the process of trying to acquire the rest. The art and story were really great, looking forward to getting to finish it. Going to really miss Dark Horse.

Really, you guys liked Legacy?  I thought it was a HORRIBLE story.  Or, more properly, it was just Clone Wars + OT set years and years later with the names changed.  EXACT SAME STORY.  Totally boring, utter letdown, and complete rubbish IMO.

From what I've read it may have been similar but I think that's what a lot of people want something that doesn't deviate too much so it doesn't feel like Star Wars. It's quite a task to make something in a era which almost everything you would tie to Star Wars for a casual fan no longer really exists, and still make the characters and plot believable. I'd much rather see something that resembles the OT afterwards rather then previous such as The Old Republic did, as history does repeat itself and it paved the way for a whole new group of characters and settings. Also was there any Star Wars comic series that you found good?

No no, it didn't deviate ANY.  It is, quite literally, just the EXACT SAME STORY.  Hero of war falls to dark side, sith create new government from old, rebels etc etc etc.  blah blah blah.  How anyone can read it and think it's anything other than sheer garbage is beyond me.  I could write it in 10 minutes.  Just load the original books, and do a search and replace for the names Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader to Jacin Solo/Darth Caedus, Old Republic to Galacitc Alliance, etc.  Like no originality AT ALL.  None.  Total, complete lack of anything in any way resembling originality.  They didn't even get rid of all the same old plot bunnies that strike at the same times.  It's horrible.

I can't say I've read a comic series yet that I found to be worth the money.  Most of them are poor writing at best, with plot bunnies abounding, and often HUGE plot holes that they simply ignore and cover with bunnies.  Much like a lot of the lower quality EU novels, only with pictures.

I think you're referring to Legacy of the Force (40 ABY) which I agree lacked, such as the death of Mara Jade by another author. But the comics focus on 137 ABY where all those characters are long gone, instead focusing on the remnant of the GA, and yet another Imp civil war. It wasn't perfect but what route is there left to go after the GA was formed. Plus characters like Roan Fel, Darth Krayt, and Cade Skywalker were nice creations.

What was your opinion on Rogue Squadron, and Dark Empire? Which can both be considered well done.

Rogue Squadron wasn't bad I guess.

Dark Empire, while it brought us the Sovereign that I love so much, was rubbish.  Overly megalomaniacal yaddah yaddah been there done that can you think of anything new to write about or are you just going to keep rehashing the same crap again and again until we stop being stupid enough to pay for it?  Oh, yeah, I guess you will just keep rehashing the same story again and again until we stop being dumb enough to pay for it.

Boba Fett Man on a Mission, Tales of the Jedi, Shadows of the Empire, Clone Wars 1-9(Crimson Empire II and III if you only read the frist one) Purge, Dark Times, Thrawn Trilogy comics are all top notch.

Yeah, the Dark Horse years were great, really helped create more of the EU as much as the books, thought the art helps paint a picture.

And really, they help made the Fetts in general a little more what I expect from them than the movies ever shown.

Agreed I liked how the Fett's were portrayed in the comics, especially the few appearances by Boba in Empire. What series from Dark Horse did you like the most?

Well, for sure Republic and the many miniseries that with it. Expanded the Jedi Order and it's various members. Shows us exactly why Ben Kenobi told Luke they were great warriors while at the same time shows them with their own issues that makes us feel tense about their fates.
