Not as hard as me !!!!
Following this weekend, the tease can be seen in theaters around the world this December.
You won't have to wait long:Also, I'm sure somebody will have it uploaded by that night anyways.
I hope so.But my expectations arent that high, from the Rumors i heard on Youtube ^^Luke reflects on his Ability to use the force and withdraws himself because he thinks he is a Danger to everyone.
...Really?The same Luke who basically gave Palpatine the finger when offered to join the Dark Side when all seems bleak for everyone? The Luke who saw his father as a tormented human being than a monster? The Luke who believes all can have second chances in life...except for Palpatine, but he may as well be Satan while we're at it....If that's the story of Luke in this movie, something clearly must have screwed his views, or he found out in some other life, he was married to Mara Jade...who may or may not exist in the new canon. lol
Sigh, I feel they were so desperate to create NEW fans this is really about the new gen and the old will fade in time. I feel like Pellaeon watching his beloved Empire melt away, while various factions that should be fighting together are at war. Dozens of splinter EU groups, fanatical new age groups, confused newcomers who have no idea what is going on...and here I am watching the pyre that is my EU burning away slowly but surely...
They want to be able to be free to tell their own story, a lot of the plotholes and idiocy in the prequel trilogy were a result of certain things needing to happen in order for the OT to still happen. It makes no sense for Obi-Wan and Yoda to split up when Yoda is going to confront Palpatine, who is on the same planet as both of them, but they would likely have been able to defeat him together, and the plot would never be able to happen. Granted, this could have been avoided with better writing, but it is what it is.
I understand WHY they did this, I just cannot condone it. Abrams wants to do his own sotry, great wonderful and understandable. He's a great director and I liked his take on Star Trek. Disney wants to bring in new fans, fantastic, introducing new fans is always good, but there is no cause to alienate a majority of old fans by disregarding the entirety of the EU that honestly helped KEEP SW alive during the roughly two decades of no SWs movies. Sells of new SW books have PLUMMETTED, not risen. Rifts have arisen that in some areas are quite powerful. Do I agree with everything in EU? Of course not. In fact I was done after the Vong War(You really couldn't top something of that magnitude)Some of it WAS excruciatingly terrible to read(Crystal Star and Children of the Jedi come to mind), some continuity issues were there(Certain Jedi getting killed by Grievous, Savage and a Droidika in separate works come to mind) and I understand wanting to do ones own thing I really do(No one just wants to copy paste ANOTHER'S work, even Peter Jackson took some liberties and that worked out great.), but this could have been done with more tact. Surgical sections could have been cut if need be, EU could have been slightly retooled to fit. THAT I could understand, THAT is compromise and respect to the works of Authors, artists and game developers who often poured heart and soul into their work. As well as taking the fans into consideration. This just comes across as , "We own it, we choose to do this and if you don't like it fine, we will just make new fans."I think the movie will come out and be recieved like the prequels, commercially successful, problems with plotlines, generally negative to medium positive reviews and Disney will milk it dry.SW Fans on both sides will continue to do what they have always done more or less and eventually will settle into their rythms again. The Authors like Zahn, Stackpole, Luceno and others will find ways to either write their characters into this new continuity or adapt admirably.I just feel that this new Galaxy is for someone else. Mine was already created over the last 20 years.
