Era Change Question
« on: May 06, 2014, 09:45:30 PM »
So, when moving from one era to another, are the previous era's heroes destroyed?
Say you send two fleets. One contains Isard, another contains Harrsk or some guy like that.
Isard reaches her destination first and is killed. What happens to the fleet with Harrsk in it? What becomes of the Shockwave?

Is it possible to 'clone' certain minor heroes like this? The ones that get upgrades, I mean.
Like, let's say you're the New Republic. You send Ackbar off somewhere, and meanwhile you kill Thrawn. Does this mean you have two Ackbars now? Does the game have any problems with this (like an exception or something like that)? What about Gorgon and Knight Hammer in Reunification, or Errant Venture and Crimson Errant Venture?

Does the game have a limit on how many heroes you can have at once? Let's say I decide to preserve every minor hero by making them travel while the leader kicks the bucket. Will some heroes start getting erased?

Depends. Most Remnant heroes switch, most NR heroes stay. Can't remember the specifics. Also, as far as the game cares each version of Ackbar is a different thing, so you can have as many as you want, but when Galactic Voyager spawns, Home One despawns.

There's no real limit on heroes, however only 12 or so will show up in the top right bar.

What about the promised regicide function (where you could push a button to sacrifice the Imperial leader and go to the next era), or was that found to be unfeasible?

With all the other issues regarding crashes and bugs tied to era progression the regicide feature was scrapped before we finished 2.1.

Ah, okay.

We don't intend to add any more units into ICW, except maybe one or two for the Empire of the Hand as we develop them for Ascendancy. Other than that, all we're doing is remodeling/reskinning some stuff.

Will the Consen make it into the mod for the EotH then?

Also, no Gladiator in my PA's future?? :'(

I actually like that fact.  Gladiator is one of the ugliest canon/once-canon designs there is IMO.

Consen, not sure. Would require animation, and I'm not getting along with the version of Max needed for animating for EaW. Gladiator, almost certainly not. If there's one thing the Pentastar Alignment doesn't need, it's more light frigates.

Too bad. I was hoping the PA would have more location specific units. For example, it could gain Munificents from the CSA planets along with the Lucrehulk and Gladiators/AT-ATs from certain Imperial worlds
