Until the patch it's basically impossible to play multiplayer with the mod.  I've tested with multiple computers with multiple retail (gold pack) versions, and Xixer and I have tesetd multiple times with Steam and Retail, and it simply freezes up upon attempting.

If you're willing to change the one line in gameconstants.xml it works fine. Just change it back/make a backup for when the patch comes out.

Will it change back automatically if I uninstall and reinstall the game?
Am I able to change the XML files with Notepad or something, or do I need software of some sort?

This would be in the mod's Data\XML folder, so if you wanted to reinstall anything (which may be overkill, just back up that one file) it'd be the mod. You only need notepad.
