Some very interesting articles about the Imperial warlords of the post-Endor era on the Official Star Wars Blog:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

It seems like a grand attempt to have the EU coalesce into one consistent story, but it gets lazy here and there. Like, Sate Pestage was killed on Ciutric and on Byss because he was cloned or something.
It also feels kind of weird reading a three page article on the Empire and its offshoots and never hear anything about Voss Parck, the Council of Moffs, or Empire Reborn. Odder still that there's all this about this weird genetically engineered stuff instead of warlords.

Interesting read!  I especially like how the second part introduces the name of Delvardus' capital planet in the Core (it was previously unnamed) - which just goes to show how the SWEU continues to expand.  As I recall in ICW 2.1 we had to put Delvardus on Odik-II for the Reunification GC because at the time his actual planet was unknown.

EDIT: There is also quite a lot of narrative here of which I was unfamiliar with (including some of the warlords themselves).  Thanks for bringing it to my attention. :)

Agreed, though Odik II was a Fortress world Delvardus owned so putting him there wasn't too far out, Serrenno was Zsinj's capital but Dathomir gets most credit. Did like how they fleshed ut Delvardus, Harrsk and Teradoc, they neded it and I always was fascinated by he Warlords.

I liked part 1 and 2. As for Cronus and a Brill they were truly small fish in the Galactic sea. Also we finally solved the mystery of who killed Grand Moff Ardus Kaine, Enix Devian supplied false intel that Grand Admiral Grant was returning to fight for the PA and would meet Kaine over Palhani but instead was slain by New Repubic E Wings tipped off by Devian of the Grand Moff's arrival.

But were they actually New Republic-controlled E-wings?  I read it as Devian set up a trap for Kaine by teasing the return of Grant, and then sent the E-wings previously acquired from Kiara Schmong against Kaine (which would neatly serve to redirect blame/suspicion away from Devian).

They're good articles although I think it kinda stupid that Harrsk survives the gas that kills all the other warlords by simply missing part of his brain only to commit suicide when he suddenly realizes he is cracy.
I reject your canon and substitute my own!

I suppose you are right there, just another case of the Empire killing itself off.

Seems kind of silly now that they posted these articles while knowing that it would be considered non-canon.

Not really, didn't they start with these before deciding on going with a new canon?  Besides, they're supposedly going to continue publishing in the Expanded Universe alongside the new canon anyway so it still fits in somewhere!  Plus everything published via this route has just as much chance of being adopted by the new canon as anything else (since the content of the articles is/was considered canon and are included in LucasFilm's master database).

Sorry, my post got cut off. What I was saying was that this may mean that a good chunk of this will remain canon.

And they are only going to continue publishing the EU already written, they are not going to write any more EU novels. The demand for them will slowly diminish and disappear until thy cease being published (in about 5 years or so, I predict).

I stopped at the end of the Vong War anyway. Let the new blood do their thing. I still have my Warlords, Thrawn, Pellaeon, Wraiths and Rogues with the grand Vong Finale.
