Meh, assault frigates die fast enough that it won't destroy that fleet due to their pitiful turbolaser damage (although early game, yes, the AF is fantastic because it doesn't need corvettes to escort it, and in larger numbers can threaten even capital ships). It's the 50 BAC's you need to be terrified of.
Nevermind the Sovereign, just look at the Executor class next to the Praetors to truly see colossal!
I know executor is way larger, it's just that sovereing looks more massive, while executor seems thiner. While writing this I was thinking, will mankind ever do something like that I mean I'm sure it won't be today, nor tomorrow and I'll be dead and won't see it but let's say in a thousand years are we going to rule the galaxy with gigantic super ships or something as cool as that? Just wondering hahaha
And we're having like Star Wars. While at the end of WWII big Battleships were the future of naval warfare, the US no longer has any active Battleships, they've all been replaced by smaller, faster, more maneuverable missile cruisers and gunboats.
Bigger isn't always better. Big guns gave way to aircraft and long rsnge missiles. Battleships were awesome and always have an awe about them but their days as central units of a fleet are long past sadly.
