time will show. but I say we die when some alien race comes to destroy Earth because it's on their way when they try to build a by-pass road.

Or when some bright spark decides to drill to the centre of the earth, somehow causing mass destabilisation thus wiping out everything on the planet surface - which is why we need a colony on the Moon (and then Mars) asap..

bases on moon and mars sounds good idea.

And then the moon and Mars colonies get mad at Earth for controlling them and nuke us

but moon is too far to be hit with nukes. unless you put giant extra fuel tanks whixh will slow the missile and it can be shot down.

and i was saying the moon would nuke earth, and yeah, big fuel tanks wouldn't slow it down, you wouldn't really need to use fuel much once you're on your way

You would, otherwise your nuke could be affected by complex gravitational forces, possibly pulling it off course..

exactly. and without power it would be easy to shoot down.

What complex gravitational forces? theres only two that will affect you, the moon and Earth, and if they can figure out how to keep a satellite in orbit without engines, i think they can make a missle actually fall

And no missle is easy to shoot down, they still have speed, just not constant engine

but satellites won't have to travel to moon and back. they're very close to Earth. if you would send a satellite to the mid-distance between Earth and Moon, it wouldn't stay on there.

The satellites are as said, in orbit, therefore the gravitational forces applied to them remain constant.  When an object moves through space the gravitational forces change with distance to the respective gravity source.

There isnt just the Earth and Moon's gravitational forces to consider, there is also the Sun, and every other planet in the Solar System (although these have a weak influence at such great distance).

Most satellites do have engines, which are used to maintain their orbits (all satellites orbits decay with time due, and thus they need boosting back into position, or to speed them up to maintain relative position).  The ISS is boosted by the Shuttle every now and again, otherwise its orbit would decay and it would start re-entry.

Well the missle is kinda supposed to go down to Earth

And if they can bring a rover, living quarters, landing module, food and oxygen enough for three people to the moon, im sure bringing a nuke to the Earth from the moon would be a piece of cake

complex or not, gravitational pulls aren't random, they can be calculated for without much time

Yes they can be calculated, but you'd still need engines on the nuke to maintain the correct trajectory towards its target..

Im not saying there wouldn't be engines, i never said that, you guys are making it out like it would have to be a mile high and still only maybe get there

Im saying it really wouldn't be horribly difficult

I say it wouldn't be so easy. I mean those gravitational pulls in the space sift every second. so you can't calculate them so easily. but because we don't have colonies on moon this conversation is kinda futile.

They dont sift every second, you think the planets just decide to change their mass in the blink of an eye?

No, for the matter than they dont 'decide' anything - they are inanimate objects..
