If you were an imp warlord what would your strategy be?

lets be reasonable you have few resources you have to build up.

my strategy would be converting my ties into shielded versions.

then upgrading my victory star destroyer 2s to have concussion missiles.

setting up legitimate business deals with many factions for a strong economy as well as some treaties and fail safes so that my empire wouldn't fall apart on my death.

converting my imp stars to interdictor versions that could channel the power to their weapons.

then create or capture a major shipyard and start making Venators as well as smaller support ships like the gladiator  and shielded fighters for them.

i would eventually build a Vengeance-class dreadnought for my self and of course a clone.

post your own and together we will make a strategy to crush the rebels,so good thrawn himself would be jealous!

Mine would be similar to Kaine in that I'd make sure it was allied with businesses so that it would be financially viable to survive.

Declare neutrality so that the NR doesn't seek to destroy me.  Replace the Tie/LN with a shielded version of the Interceptor and integrate Avengers into the fleet as the "high end" fighter and replace Tie/Sa's with the XG-1 Alpha class gunboats.  All in the name of survivability for my pilots.

End the whole "anti-human" BS and actively recruit from non-humans, making sure they were given respect and treated the same as humans.  This would further reduce the rebel scums desire to prioritize eliminating me.

I'd use Venators and ISD-II's as my primary capitol ships since my fighters and bombers were upgraded to not suck.  They'd be escorted by Enforcers and Strike Cruisers.  I'd completely ditch the Tector design and replace it with the Allegiance in important fleets.  My less important fleets would be VSD-II's with Enforcers and Strike Cruisers.  I'd probably stay with Lancers for anti-fighter duty.

Eventually I'd have a few Praetor MKII's added to my most important fleets.  I'd use nothing larger unless I could get Bellators.

yeah aliens are great imagine, wookie commandos in dark trooper armor best thing ever!

as for SSD's the point of my one would be to draw attention away from my hordes of ventors releasing swarms of shielded TIE's

If I was an Imperial Warlord, I wouldn't be like most warlords in the fact that I'd go to war with everyone and their mother. Firstly, I'd pick a good planet or sector to set up shop in (such as Desevro in the Tion Cluster). After I had taken my force from the Empire and set up my own faction, I would put it under a process of review and restructuring.

First and foremost, I would be no 'Emperor' or 'Warlord', rather I would change my title to something like 'Governor' or 'Chief of State'. I would end the Human-centrism in my Empire, and begin recruiting from non-Human ranks, that way I would push myself away from the Empire even farther. Once then, I would begin actively expanding my domain, albeit peacefully, through treaties and deals, until I controlled a region of space (the whole Tion Cluster).

From there, I would begin to solidify my Empire. I would look for a planet primed for manufacturing, like Lianna or Murkhana, and use it as my primary shipyard and foundry, in the case as a precuation for war. I would highlight a planet with tough terrain, like Rhen Var, and use it for a key infantry training post. I would continue to make good use of my resources (i.e. using Raxus Prime to salvage scrap metal for my shipyards and foundries, forming treaties with others factions like the New Republic and others to form neutrality and an ally if need be). My Empire would be the United States (under-Reagan) of the galaxy far, far away :)

I would follow Kaine's example in not "formally" breaking from the Empire, just ignoring the Ruling council and Isard. I would offer lucrative tax cuts to businesses to lure them to my space.  I'd declare neutrality to all Imperial factions, offering secret funding to any operations that opposed the NR. Crack down on any rebel sympathizers and offer forces on loan against the NR in highly visible displays to show the Imperialccitizens and military I stand for them and offer protection from the rebels. Improved TIE variants to improve pilot's survival rates.

Mainly focus on internal stability, economy, importing loyal citizens and attracting as many able fleet, army and intelligence commanders to my banner as possible. Create a network of business fronts behind enemy lines like Zsinj so my enemies can contribute without notice to my Empire.

Fleet elements would be the victory II class anchored by ISD II flagships.
Planetary forces would be nominally independent officially but with commanders loyal to me.
Military focus would be on the navy and defense platforms above worlds.

Negotiate with hutts and crime to leave my space largely alone in return for assistance in flourishing in other territory via my businesses and ignoring their transports through my space.

Finally construction of an appropriate flagship like Night Hammer that serves as a deterrent, a symbol and a weapon of supremacy over my rivals.

As far as I can tell the New Republic and Empire left Hutt Space well alone. While the Alignment and Remnant aligned themselves with the major business interests in their respective regions of the galaxy, it would help to be the only Imperial faction with the Hutts' backing.
I don't know how I'd secure such an alliance. I think if I knew about any of the Imperial storehouses or the Maw Installation or the location of Bevel Lemelisk, this information would be valuable to them.

I would definitely go with a Kaine type of Imperial Warlord.

I would get rid of humanocentric laws.  All aliens would be equal in my fiefdom.  This would be policed, and any who couldn't adjust to this mentality would be asked to retire from active service.

I would be fully neutral as long as I was able.

Upgrade ISD-I's to the ISD-II refit as quickly as possible, recycle Tie/LN and Tie/IN.  From them, get the Invids clutch fighter (sometimes called the Tri-fighter) as my starfighter of the line (for those not familiar, 3 solar panels as wings with the bottom 2 also serving as landing gear, 2 chiin lasers, Ion cannon on top wing, speed similar to the X-wing although marginally slower and lightly shielded) with Tie/AD as my interceptor.  Skipray Blastboats as my heavy bomber, with some Tie/D for precision strikes.

Beyond the ISD-II's, VSD-II's would make the bulk of my navy, slightly updated Venators (stronger shields) as my primary carrier with the Strike-Class Cruiser and Carrack Cruiser also featuring prominently.  If I could arrange to buy the rights to build, any Dreadnaughts still in service would be converted to Asasult Frigate mk I's.  Lancers as the primary anti-starfighter.  Enforcer/Vindicators to fill in where needed and to be used in basic system patrol.
