Okay....

If it's true and we act on it: We all get to live and have a cleaner environment as well as new ways to use renewable energy so we all don't run out of oil one day and become screwed.

If it's all false and we act on it: We have a cleaner evironment and better technology. Cities like Detroit and Toronto won't be so polluted and unhealthy. Everyone lives longer.

If true and we do squat: Bye bye Earth, we're all fucked.

Politicians useglobal warming as a reason for them to get the voters votes. Particularly tree huggers. Just as a fish to a worm.

Notice how Al Gore isn't running for anything? I haven't seen many politicians (at least in the States) that give a shit about the environment or even pretend to. Especially among Republicans.

Nah. He doesn't care about that stuff, he plans to leave soon with all of the people who will go with him. The reason he's gained so much weight is he's trying to become a new planet to replace Earth.
