Abrams + Disney + Star Wars
i won't say it's the worst combination, because it could have been way more worse
(for example: Uwe Boll + some unknown Production Studio)
But concerning how the new Star Trek totally wrecked the Star Trek timeline:
one can only hope, that he won't do the same think with the Star Wars franchise.

So Lucas "leaked" that all the original cast members will return for the next movie. Thoughts?

I hope they won't die of old Age on the set.
Well at least there will be some consistency
let's see what will happen.

I'm just hoping they just be the charecters that they were (Mark hamill being Luke skywalker). I also heard that Samuel J Jackson (Mace Windu) is going to be in it and i can't think what he is going to be.

I got a few suggestions:
First. Reincarnation of Mace Windu
2nd: Ghost of Mace Windu
3rd: Nick Fury!

If they are in the new trilogy, I would like to see Luke go out in a scene similar to Obi-Wan - sacrifice for the next generation - and then Han and Leia should go out with a bang in the Falcon (with the reverse of the "I love you" "I know" line from ESB).

I wonder why Lucas leaked that, when Abrams is the man of secrets. Maybe Disney decided to not play with Lucas's ideas and stick to their own, so Lucas is trying to get revenge by leaking this. Maybe this means it will follow the EU after all.

What I think they should do is have it set after FotJ: Jaina and Jag are married, and they have begun the reformation of the Empire. Their most recent decision was to institute an organization of Force users loyal to the Empire--the Imperial Knights. After the Sith occupation of Coruscant, the GA has begun to fall apart, wih many systems rejoining the Imperial Remnant because they fear the GA can no longer protect them. Fearing that they may lose power, the member worlds of the GA declare war against the rising Imperial Remnant and ally themselves with rogue Imperial Commander Daala. Unbeknownst to the GA, however, Daala is working with the Lost Tribe of the Sith. Their plan: destabilize the balance of power and conquer. The Jedi must now choose whether to fight for the government hat they swore to protect or fight for what is right.

That could easily make a trilogy.  There's even plenty of room for a good story line with lots of side stories and the obligatory fights.  So much potential for interesting fights.  I'd go with it.
Did you see that?  Know what that cost?  $58,000.  I mean, what a waste.  It wasn't even funny.  That's $58,000 that could have gone to curing leukemia.  Or.  muscular dystrophy.  Or... what does Michael J. Fox have?  That.  Alright, let's watch some damn cartoons.

I know it will never be made, but I'd love to see a movie chronicling Soontir Fel transforming the 18worst to the feared 181st.

Send that Idea to Disney, perhaps they will buy it ^^

Alright, so Guderian's post above gave me an idea. On Star Wars day, anyone who likes my plot and who wants to save the EU get themselves and all their friends to each write a letter to Disney/Lucasfilms (I'll need some help to find where to send it to) telling them not to disregard the EU and give them my idea (or if you can think of a better one be my guest) for the new trilogy plot. Maybe if enough people protest like this, Disney will see that it is in their monetary best interests to not throw away the EU. If enough people think this is a good idea I'll post a separate thread for sign ups and a revised plot/any plot ideas you might have.

in addition to that, or as an alternative you could start an online petition.
They do spread around quit fast if enough people send it to their friends.

Could you start said petition? If you could that would be awesome.

I'm pretty sure Disney have already said the new films wont be adaptations of EU books.

Disney lies (hopefully). Anyway, just because they aren't adaptations of EU books doesn't mean the story has to ignore the EU. It can be a new story set after the current EU series (meaning FotJ).
