is there a map where we start with only one planet?

I noticed most have set planets but it would be nice to build from scratch. Is there a way to modify a map? I would love to play art of war with this edit.

Anyone else like this idea?

There will be a GC in 2.0 where you start with only one planet under your control.

It will be amazing , and will allow for different outcomes... i.e... whichever planets your faction captures first, will make for decisive differences, each time one plays the mod. Looking forward to it. By the way, what are your computer specs?

Indeed, I tend to fortify the land bases heavily as I move along using my fleet primarily as an offensive spear point to keep driving my enemy before me.

I'm glad they added this option to start with one planet, before I had to sell everything and abandon the planets to the AI while I waited =(.

I'll abandon some, and I do have a tendency to sell a lot of units (corvettes, units that tend to act as nothing more than cannon fodder like Dreadnaughts, etc), but I try to keep my initial "core" planets.  The only thing I wish was changed with it is that the PA won't be able to be used for it.  Which is too bad.  I might still try it as the EOTH or IR though.
