Star wars guide to warfare SSD's and other ships
« on: June 12, 2012, 09:31:21 PM »
will the new ships from the essential guide to warfare be included in future releases

Altor-class
Bulwark Mark II
Munifex-class light cruiser
Pride of Tarlandia(finally gave a name to the comm ship from ROTJ)
Bellator-class dreadnought
Allegiance-class battlecruiser
Procursator-class Star Destroyer
Secutor-class Star Destroyer
Sorannan-class Star Destroyer(previously known as EX-F)
Assertor-class Star Dreadnought
Mandator III-class dreadnought
Vigil-class corvette

some of these could go into the penstar, others could go to the IR, finally some may come as spoils of war(ie from capturing a planet)

Well a problem with most of those is that other than a class name there is little to no info on them. Most have no design or stats. The few that do, like the Allegiance class would merely be performing identical roles as the Praetor IIs. It would become a mass super ship concept like the UEAW mod. Having a few super ships makes them valuable, strategic and balanced while still leaving the mod varied and fun. Right now there is the Praetor II, Sovereign SSD, Executor SSD, Eclipse SSD, Viscount, and possibly the Vengeance SSD. They are spaced out and rare so as to be tactically useful but not overwhelming.

There was talk of the EX-F being an idea but no stats or design for it exist.

I believe that since the essential guide came out there have been updates as to some of their stats and several got models too.

also like I said earlier they could be given when conquering specific high value worlds or given to the penstar, I know at least one of them was built by the remnant,

No matter how fun rolling enemies over with super ships is...I would definitely prefer to have few ships, I value them much more and I am much more cautious...which is a better way o doing things for me.
How do I even

Altor-class
A multi-kilometer fleet supply ship. It's as big as the Praetor-II, and from the very little information we're given by the EGW, it's probably unarmed. While we could reasonably say there were smaller versions of it, there's still no role for a ship like that in FoC.

Bulwark Mark II
They gave information and designs on the Bulwark Mk. I and Bulwark Mk. III, and neither of them are appealing. None of us really felt it was necessary to give the faction with the best late eras something so powerful early, when the whole point of the faction at that point is it struggling to establish itself. We also have limited resources, and they have the most complete roster as it is.

Munifex-class light cruiser
It's ugly and would be entirely useless. It'd end up being slightly less useful than the Star Galleon used to be.

Pride of Tarlandia(finally gave a name to the comm ship from ROTJ)
There's basically no information on this ship. Pride of Tarlandia is a specific ship name, so we don't even have a class name. The only information we have is that single picture of a single part of it from ROTS, that it's longer than 1600 meters (this based on a comparison shot of the Millenium Falcon on it to the bridge scale), and that the only known example was destroyed before the mod started. If we did decide to make a class out of it, there's not even anything we could make it do. It was a communications ship, that doesn't fit well into EaW.

Bellator-class dreadnought
We have a design, and we know it's 7200 meters long. That's about it. The Praetor was meant to fill that gap, if we made this as well it'd take a lot of time and really wouldn't add anything.

Allegiance-class battlecruiser
Same as the Bellator, except substitute 2200 with 7200. It'd basically only be useful if we completely supplanted the Tector, and the Tector has the advantage of already being in the mod.

Procursator-class Star Destroyer
This was considered for the Pentastar Alignment, however there's currently 2 things holding it back: 1, no stats, which is solvable if we extrapolate based on the model and 2. time constraints

Secutor-class Star Destroyer
None of us are epecially fond of the design, and we have the exact same information for it as for the Allegiance. The only other information is that it's a carrier.

Sorannan-class Star Destroyer(previously known as EX-F)
Just a class name. No stats, no design.

Assertor-class Star Dreadnought
15,000 meters. EaW has enough problems handling the SSDs we have to add because they're famous/important. It's basically just a short, pudgier Executor.

Mandator III-class dreadnought
No stats, no design.

Vigil-class corvette
We wanted them for the Pentastar Alignment, but like with the Procursator, no stats and limited resources so we went with the more common IPV.

While EGW had some nice designs, the majority of them are from FractalSponge, and as such are Superships. The Remnant already has enough superships, when ships above the size range of then ISD are supposed to be the exception, not the rule, and EaW has a terrible time handling them.

Is making the Vengeance-class buildable a good idea? It just seems like it would give the Imps twice the number of SSDs they could build.

There isn't a design or any specifications for the Sorannan class.

I actually have to argue I knew I was missing something I liked the star galleon I think it had less space then the escort carrier but didnt die as fast. -_- also I could really see several more models for the IR and the NR and I've also noticed the praetor was missing a quad turbo, but seeing as the IR doesn't get the praetor except in era 3 couldn't it be possible to add in a battle cruiser or two for them in other eras maybe era 5 one more since era 3 is the only one you can have soveriegn and executor, just a few ideas.

also the secutor I could see as the most logical as its more of a carrier then a battlecruiser.
