But if I had a disruptor held to my head and had to ball all of this up into one guess, I'd say it's something about the Chiss Ascendency,

The Chiss never did anything themselves in the Galaxy back then. They may have been the only official allies with the Sith, but they never did anything with them. Atleast in my Bounty Hunter playthrough they didn't do shit. And I actually interacted with them in said playthrough.

So a KotOR mod where the Chiss Ascendancy doesn't have any AI files?  =D

Its probably not going to be a Chiss centered mod its probably going to be a kotor mod for FOC, or Sins of a solar Empire or its new Expansion Rebellion.

Yeah Corey's June 12 2012 hint, that's the release date for SOAS:Rebellion. I would find it amazing if they did a mod for Rebellion since it has yet to be released, but I can imagine a SOAS mod centered on the KOTOR era. That'd be pretty badass.
"That's not what the Empire would have done, Commander. What the Empire would have done was build a super-colossal Yuuzhan Vong-killing battle machine. They would have called it the Nova Colossus or the Galaxy Destructor or the Nostril of Palpatine or something equally grandiose. They would have spent billions of credits, employed thousands of contractors and subcontractors, and equipped it with the latest in death-dealing technology. And you know what would have happened? It wouldn't have worked. They'd forget to bolt down a metal plate over an access hatch leading to the main reactors, or some other mistake, and a hotshot enemy pilot would drop a bomb down there and blow the whole thing up. Now that's what the Empire would have done."

Anybody know why incredible characters like Thrawn, get little or no attention, but little insects like Wedge, Darlaa and Pellaeon get entire series written about them? I mean seriously, Thrawn could and would have beaten any enemy up one side and down the other hands down.

Pallaeon gets a lot because he served the republic, the empire, the imperial remnant.  He was one of the very few characters in the entire galaxy to survive all of it.

And he's nothing NEAR an insect.  While not a tactician on the level of Thrawn, he was still a great tactician, and managed to hold the Empire together in some way shape or form through the death of the Emperor TWICE, Thrawn, etc.  One of the most important characters in the entire Imperial history.

First off, Thrawn gets LOADS of attention in the EU(Outbound Flight, Choices of One, Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, The Last Command, Spector of the Past, Vision of the Future, as well as being mentioned with awe and respect in nearly EVERY EU book)

Wedge is hardly an insect(guy survived BOTH death star runs created Wraith and ran Rogue squadron, became a great general of Fleet command and is one of the most essential NR characters ever created.)
Daala(while arguably the most militarily inept character I've ever read of, still managed to reunite the Empire and lead to it's salvation by turning it over to Pellaeon.)

Pellaeon-is the only EU character I know of who has served some 70 yrs of active duty. he was an amazing tactician(he beat Antilles, Iblis, and Ackbar at different engagements throughout his career, the only reason he had to retreat so much was often a lack of material or power to turn the tide, i.e. too little too late.) He's probably the third greatest tactician in the SWEU. He survived so many brushes with death and was the SOLE SAVIOR of the Galactic Empire. He fought the CIS, Nuso Esva, pirates, Rebels, Warlords, NR, Yuuzhan Vong and Confederacy, no one else has a record even CLOSE to that. He was Thrawn's greatest protege as well.

Also you forget something else, Thrawn lost battles too, not often but it did happen. Finally These other insect survived when Thrawn was killed, they outlived him and created their own legacies that shaped the Galaxy.

So that's why.

I'm about 99.9% sure its a mod for the Sins expansion, as I'm sure everyone else is as well, but what knowledge we know about the Sins expansion may paint us a picture about the mod. First Rebellion has 6 factions, in the original there were 3 but each one has split in half because of infighting and rebellion, next Sins has complex diplomacy so you can not only go to peace and war with different factions but also use "Machiavellian strategy". Now lets look at the word Ascendancy, it means "Occupation of a position of dominant power or influence". Now where in the Star Wars timeline have we seen a time where there were many different factions that were vying for Ascendancy, they had split from each other, and they used a variety of fighting and Machiavellian strategy aka diplomacy to get to their goal?

The Imperial Civil War
Having an entire squadron of Lego TIE fighters is either really nerdy or really awesome, I'm just not sure which.

Or ummmm any war in Star Wars history

Not that it matters, but faction numbers in Sins of a Solar Empire are easily moddable. You can have as many or as few as you want functioning just as well as the number the base game has.
