How to modify art of war scenario
« on: October 28, 2011, 06:13:07 PM »
Hi all. Been there for years but never had chance to stop by to write something. First thing: MERCI, your mod rock!!!!

I wonder if it would be possible to explain to me how to change the Art of war scenario a bit.

Let me explain myself: I absolutly love to play the Remnant's and all...and frankly, i just can't bring myself to imagine them having to fight the EotH. The faction is really cool and all, but they shatter all the "historical feel" if you see what I mean. And as I want a challenge, i wonder...How can I take their planet and directly give them to the New Republic (and maybe giving some more cash in the beginning to the empire to counter balance that?)

Would it be really hard?

The easiest way to do it is to ust go into Campaigns_AoW.xml and delete all of the EotH planets from the <Planets> </Planets> tags

It'd be even easier to go into Campaigns_All.xml ;)

I am a total newb in this. How exactly should I proceed? And to give those planet to the rebel? And give more money to the remnant?

I knew it was 3 letters, just forgot which three.

I don't know how much easier I can explain it. Go into Forces of Corruption\Mods\Imperial_Civil_War\Data\XML and open Campaigns_All.xml. Scroll down to the version of it with the human player as the Empire (each GC has one entry per playable faction). Scroll down to near the bottom of that entry, and you'll see this:

<Starting_Credits> Underworld,  15000 </Starting_Credits>
      <Starting_Tech_Level> Underworld, 1 </Starting_Tech_Level>
      <Max_Tech_Level> Underworld, 5 </Max_Tech_Level>

Delete it.

And there should be a ton of entries that look like this:
<Starting_Forces> Underworld, Nirauan, Underworld_Star_Base_1 </Starting_Forces>

Delete all of the ones with Underworld in the first bit except one to use as a base, then change it to

<Starting_Forces> Rebels, Planet, Unit/Structure </Starting_Forces>

And do that as many times as you like to add each unit to each planet.

Next, go up to
<Starting_Credits> Empire,  12000 </Starting_Credits>

And increase the number.
