I know you can find all this in the XML's but to save us the time of searching through them it would be nice if you guys posted stats for all weapons and ships i.e. damage of different hardpoints and shield strength

I don't believe that is readily available. However, the team and myself have been working on some improved unit descriptions that should give more insight into unit capabilities, uses, fighters carried, etc. that should make an appearance in upcoming patches if I am not mistaken.

thanks, and fi you could list maybe just hardpoint damage states that would be nice since I have no idea damage variations between masers, lasers, quads, doubles, etc

The mod team is busy either actually making the mod, or in college. With the limited time we have to work on the mod we don't want to spend it hunting for damage numbers.  It'd be just as easy for you to find all the stats in the xml files as it would be for anyone else.  If you did find them and post them though I'm sure everyone would be appreciative.
