That's actually not as true as it was 10-15 years ago.
With prosthesis tech getting better by the day, methods of purifying our blood and tech advancements in cell-regeneration technologies the people who are teenagers now might have the chance to live for... basically forever. After all they don't have to survive on this tech alone, they just needed to lengthen their lifetime until we find the tech needed for even better. I think we might be able to make an almost full "rebirth". The only question that still remain is the car with all of it's parts changed. Is that the same car or not kinda thing.

I think living forever would be more of a curse if anything, that will easily lead to overpopulation for one thing. It will also lead to "Immorality" probably starting out only optional for the high class, which only lead to further social class divides and more of those would lead to a revolution. Then that cycle would just repeat itself overtime. Plus living forever sounds kinda boring to me, I think if I was able to live around 70-80 years, I would be happy.

New Star Wars rating scales: Number of Grand Admirals (13), Palpatine Clones (dunno), Executors (too many), Daala's Incompetence (WAY TOO BIG), ICW Thrawn Heroes (4, counting Tierce), amount of sand on Tattoine (infinite), missed stormtrooper shots (infinite * year - 30 from Thrawn books).
