At least Palpatine didn't kill Thrawn when he said Palpatines plan was stupid.

Yea, because Thrawn said a few times that he would not waste forces on a fight he couldn't win.  The first time Palpatine gave the forces to another commander and lost the whole fleet.  After that Palpatine listened closer to what Thrawn said.

didnt Palpatine also strip Thrawn's rank when he refused to waste troops - then reinstate him after his predictions were realised

Thrawn would have a better Emperor than Palpatine

I have to agree, except that Thrawn wouldn't have wanted to be the emperor because all he wanted was peace in the galaxy.

and if the only way to ensure that peace was maintained was to be emperor, he would take that course

Yes, but I believe Thrawn could have been emperor without all that cruelty of Palpatine.

He was technically the emperor of the Empire of the Hand. Thrawn and Palpatine both realised the need for galactic unity, that much is shown in Outbound Flight. He may not have been especially fond of Palpatine or care that much when he died, but Palpatine did set up an excellent base for Galactic unity for when the Vong invaded.

Stupid rebels. they ruined all when they killed palpatine and Thrawn. They would've destroyed the Vong in notime.

Anything Tim Zahn wrote, as well as the Han Solo books. Good stuff

Tim Zahn, Is one of the greatest Star Wars authors ever period. I've had the pleasure to read a couple of his books. The thing about books is they have to be fascinating and captivating. For me the Empire/Rebellion era is far to explored and done one to many times. I love to read about The Clone Wars...Nothing is greater than to read how a squad of four Republic Commandos take down a former Death Watch Warrior "Ghez Hokan", and his some odd 100 battle droids. and live to tell about. To me that is the greatest pleasure of all.

Thrawn books from Zahn are the best.

I humbly agree, After all wasn't it Timothy Zahn who made up the idea of Thrawn?

Yes. Thrawn was first introducted in the Heir of the Empire by Timothy Zahn.

I have still yet to read that book. Unfortunately I had it for years, when I was younger I wasn't interested in Star Wars it was more Digimon/Pokemon. Now I can't find the book anywhere. The library around here sucks when it comes to paper-back Star Wars novels.
