A Base to Call Home
« on: June 26, 2016, 07:14:37 PM »

Alongside the Warlords themselves, 2.2 will have a bunch of other changes. One of these changes is something I'm working on (which will also be used by Bullet in AotR) is adding static defense turrets to base buildings. Here's the Imperial barracks with a standard AI turret built in.

These will be present as targetable hardpoints on the buildings, similar to the Underworld palace. 2.2 in general will have a lot more hardpoint representation on ground.
I also have a YouTube channel where I talk about mod development and gaming, do tutorials, and Let's Plays. If you like the content, consider supporting it on Patreon

That sounds AWESOME!!  I like when things have hardpoints, makes it more fun to watch it die hardpoint by hardpoint.

This will be quite exciting. Hardpoints on ground structures were always something I felt was underutilized in vanilla FoC.

sounds like an interesting idea, approximately how many hardpoints would a structure have?

This will make defending worlds much easier.

Depends who you are playing.  It can be tough for the IR and PA, but the NR can make any world nearly impossible for the AI to take for about 3000 credits via speeder spam, 4000 in later eras, and the EotH can do the same once it unlocks its air units.

Nice, finally military buildings have some defense, I just thinkg you might have to find the right balance, so that every building doesn't turn into a fortress, like slower rate of fire for the AI turret or lower damage than the standar point defense you can build in the pod
