eh I don't know about that. how much inflluence did the Trade Federation even have after the establishment of the empire? I assume they took a pretty big hit, and were nationalized like the Banking Clans were, right?

Actually, I just like that quote/line . palps says it to Padme in the phantom menace.

Can some one refresh my memory please...

For what legitimate reason did moisture farmers need an astromech and protocol droid?

Thanks!

And who are you?

I have owned every single total war game since the first Shogun. I was never a fan of WH. playing TW WH changed that.

eh, Stellaris. I have downloaded Star wars mods off workshop. but they never seem to be able to keep up with patches.

I love Paradox Games in general, CK2, EU4, Ive played HOI4 and just bought stellaris and it is numbers heavy.

Has anyone played this board game? It is very awesome. A big board, really nice ship and unit tokens.

Before you started to talk about specific factions it sounded a bit like a part of the base games, where, if you do a certain thing (eg, build this, conquer that) you would get free units or cash.
If the team were going to do something along these lines it would probably be a lot easier just to upgrade and reskin those to make it seem like other minor factions, other than somehow adding them outright.
At least I think.

That sounds like the system in Medieval Total war 2 I believe, Where the council of nobles would assign you to build or attack such and such for a one off bonus if completed within a turn limit. So with Empire at war being real time, how could that be incorporated? You would need some type of counting system.

Kind of like Suzerains in Civ VI? Sounds like a great idea but do the core mechanics of the base game support it?

Star Wars Discussion / Vader #1 (2017)

Has anyone started reading the new Vader series by Marvel, as opposed the last 25 issue one (which was very cool)?

I dont just look at the galaxy at war, I kind look at the whole sith jedi thing. For example.....When you consider their whole history, Darth Vader, Chosen one, prophecy. It does not seem quite as meaningful knowing its all one big album on replay.

Yeah, it had a memory leak. They did patch it eventually. SO maybe if you did not have it early on you may not have noticed.

Star Wars Discussion / Re: Star Wars Rebellion pc game

Eh, I'm not sure I will admit that... it came out in early 1998, the same year we got games like Half-Life and Ocarina of Time, and just a year later we were getting games like Homeworld and Freespace 2.  Even when it first came out my reaction to it was pretty much the same as it is now: the galactic level stuff was fairly cool, but combat was so terrible I wouldn't be playing it if it weren't Star Wars.  Star Trek's version of this experience came in 1999 with Birth of the Federation, which similarly had some good concepts with crap combat that only really held anyone's interest because it was Star Trek.

birth of the federation had that awful ram issue that made it unplayable at higher levels.

yes. the game was not great. however it was star wars which made it good to me. I'm not a fan of soase but the mods make it worthwhile because it least it's a theme I really enjoy.

Star Wars Discussion / Star Wars Rebellion pc game

Was anyone here a fan of that that old pc game? It was known as supremacy in the UK. The board game that fantasy flight just put out is awesome too.

My only issues with the pc game, was everything felt reactive. LIke you were always responding to the AI. It also had some funky starting situations. You may begin the game with just a couple of carrack light cruisers, a dreadnought and if you were lucky a Victory. You could discover Thrawn was a force user. You could lose the game if palpatine was ever kidnapped (as if such a thing would be possible)

I know this may be a stretch, but if anyone has played star wars rebellion pc game (not FF board game), as the Empire and you had the death star in a sector, you got a boost on all planets. I understand we dont have those type of weapons, but maybe a fleet in a troublesome sector may boost influence.
