How do I add the Death Star II into this mod, and where do I find the info the elusive giant station?
-
Sounds like a Corey Question
-
i haven't looked for the DSII specifically, however, I would:
1. Download .meg file extractor
2. Make folder on desktop(name doesn't matter)
3. Put extractor in folder
4. Go into your Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption folder
5. Find a file called "config.meg" (should be in your FoC folder or in another folder in your FoC folder)
6. Copy and paste your "config.meg" into the folder you created with the extractor
7. Drag the "config.meg" onto the extractor and wait for it to extract
8. In your folder, you should have 3 new folders, go into the XML folder
9. Somewhere in there, there should be an empire space units XML or something of the like where the Death Star II data should be
10. If not, then it should be in another XML file
Gl! ;)

If you have the map editor, then none of that is necessary; there should be a mod called Source which has all of the source XMLs. It's in SpaceUnitsSupers.xml. You'll need to put those entries into a file the mod still uses (Remnant Space Units) and then edit whatever else you want to for it. You'll also have to give some uni the <Is_Super_Weapon_Killer>Yes</Is_Super_Weapon_Killer> line for the other factions because that's titally not the dumbest mechanic for winning a game anyone's ever thought of.

Ok, I'll bite. Is that line to determine which units can kill the death star?
-
Sounds like a reasonable assumption
-
In that case I would agree. I had some moments of rage in the vanilla game because the DSII had to be sabotaged or whatnot. I wasn't a fan of having huge fleets rendered useless because the death star suddenly died.
The rebels won.

And that's how the Fleet ended up tearing into Warlord Factions...
-
Yeah what was that? sometime my DS would suddenly blow up and destroy itself and my entire fleet. That was sabotage?
-
Yes. That's why you make sure it's always moving.

That would probably be IG-88 at work.
-
Yep. There's no real warning that your mega weapon can suddenly die on you. Once I figured that out I never spared a single planet again.
-

Yeah...the Zann Consortium could do that with IG88(Hack the Death Star) it wold go nuts, kill everything in orbit, blow up the planet it was over and die. I found this out the hard way when I had the DSII, Executor, 20 ISDs, 40 VSDs Tarkin, Mok and Piett over Byss with the Emperor and 9 other elite units on the ground...guess what happened to MY war effort?

It did a magical vanishing act?
-
Damm, I always tough it was a game bug XD I mean no warnings, no explanation it would all suddenly blow up, that was the most annoying thing in the entire game
-
And of course, only the Consortium could make it go that nuts, the Rebels couldn't. The Consortium totally needed another buff guys, it's not like it had the best units in the game or anything.

Yeah, the Consortium needed a complete overhaul. They needed all their units to be stealth units, more heroes, and a super weapon where once it was constructed all you would have to do is push the Win Game button and you would automatically win the GC!
-
Yeah the Consortium was ridiculously OPed.
-
For some reason, one example that always stuck with me was when I was looking over Consortium heroes and fighters, for whatever reason. Then I noticed that Bossk's concussion missiles did more damage than a Y-Wing's proton torpedoes. While it is a given that as a hero unit Bossk would be very strong, but that was just plain overkill.

And then those suckers respawned. I'm so glad this mod doesn't allow for immortals (except for that Emperor thing)
-
You learn something everyday...That explains why my DS keep randomly destroying everything. I never knew about that. :(
-
Indeed, it completely took away the need to be careful with your heroes.
