Can you guys make the SSD be a unit you can make multiples of? That would be sweet. ;D
-
I'm assuming you mean the Executor class by SSD? If so, yes, you can build more than one, but they will be very expensive, and take quite a bit of time to build.
-
I can live with that ;D
Anything to get rid of that rebel scum
-
But I hope they are worth the cost. In FOC Vader in Executor is quite weak.
-
The Executor class SSD was about 8 times bigger than the Imperial class SD. It makes sense then for it to be a lot more expensive and take a lot longer.
-
Executor-class SSD was 19km long.
-
We are going for the 11 times longer than an ISD, with the Eclipse slightly shorter than that. I made a scaling guide to Thrawn's Revenge a while back, I'll update it a bit then post it.
-
Will it be more expensive than a Death Star? I played a mod that did that, and thought it was stupid...
Will there only be the Executor-Class SSD? Or will you include the Eclipse-Class SSD?
Will the Rebels (or other factions) get Super Star Destroyers?
-
1. No, that would make absolutely no sense.
2. There will be more than one multi-km warship for the Imperial Remnant, though the Empire will just have Executors.
3. Multi-km warships? Most likely, not the Rebels though. Executors? hehe 8)
-
well the rebels did inheart a couple of ssds didnt they?
-
Nope.
-
they captured one or two i think - the Lusankya and another one that was scrapped
-
Guardian SSD
-
wasnt the Guardian an Imperial Remnant SSD ?
-
Rebels captured it after the battle of Tantive V. Guardian fought against Pellaeon in 18 ABY as a flagship of Ackbar.
-
The Lusankya was captured by the New republic, not the Rebellion. Same with the Guardian.
-
thats what i meant sorry :-\
-
Yeah I'm sorry too. I should have remembered they were captured by the "New Republic" A.K.A. REBEL SCUMS
-
Rebel Alliance, New Republic - big difference :P
-
New Republic was illegal goverment that overthrew the legal one, I remind you all.
-
So was the United States throwing off Britain's colonial rule if i remember.
-
I don't think you can compare these incidents. England had conguered US, who wanted to become independent like Finland. But Empire didn't have to conguer anything. Palpatine had been elected, by the Senate, to become an emperor for life.
-
so was the king of britain (kinda)
there are a lot of similarities
new republic eventually falls altogether and the USA ain't looking so good
-
i give it about 50 years :o :o
So was the United States throwing off Britain's colonial rule if i remember.
ithought the exact same thing
-
If Hilary Clinton gets presidency, we won't last 2 1/2 years :'(
Seriously, if our presidents keep wasting resources on pointless wars we can't win, then other nations will take advantage and Armageddon will be upon us Americans.
-
if Hilary wins we may have another civil war let alone a foreign war
-
I don't want to insult anyone here but I say that if USA keeps acting like World Police they should be teached if not destroy.
-
Oy, a lot of anti-American feelings here. Perhaps I should leave...
-
Lets keep the discussion in context.
-
You're right. Lets talk about Super Star Destroyers.
-
right then, does anybody the exact number that were produced
-
It depend on what class are we talking about.
13 Executor-class SSDs were built: Executor, Lusankya, Aggressor, Annihilator, Guardian, Intimidator, Knight Hammer, Iron Fist, Reaper, Terror, Vengeance, Razor's Kiss, Crimson Blade
2 Eclipse-class SSDs: Eclipse and Eclipse II
4 Sovereign-class SSDs: Sovereign, Autarch, Despot, Heresiarch
These are mentioned on wookiepedia. But it says that none of the Sovereign-class ships were completed.
So that would give us 15 SSDs completed.
-
thank you thats what i wanted to know :)(thats a lot more than i thought i figured was about 5)
-
Yeah, considering how little work had been done in the way of SSDs, there sure were a lot. Must be due to Kuat Ship Yards capability...
The problem is that each one, while built the same, had something unusual about them. For instance, the Knight Hammer had cloaking capability while the Lusankya had part of Coruscant built on it.
-
What do you mean by saying that Lusankya had part of Imperial Center built on it?
-
What he means is that the Lusankya was buried in Coruscant back when the Emperor was in control.
-
but the real question about that is how did he keep it secret when it was buried ? - did he use the force to erase any memories of it - or did he slaughter millions of people ?
and i never realised there were 4 Sovereign class SSDs built - i thought there was just the Sovereign
-
none of the Sovereign-class SSDs were completed.
-
sorry - i didnt realise there were 4 of them (built or otherwise)
-
In the X-Wing books, it was thought that he used the Force to erase the memories of all the people that the construction displaced. Another of the theories was that the Lusankya was only partially built when buried and finished underground.
-
Personnally, it would be just like the Emperor to kill all who saw it. He'd see no problems with murdering millions. Especially on Coruscant, where that many can just disappear and no one would notice...
-
It is in his (Palpatines) character to kill those people.
-
but i would have thought that by that time Luke would be strong enough in the Force to feel so many deaths
-
He might have, but if he was not trained in that way, he would not know if it was just him feeling nasueous or something...
-
Lusankya was completed 1 ABY 2 years before Luke met Yoda. I think he wouldn't have fel it throught the Force if Palpatine killed those people. And he didn't have to kill them all at the same time.
-
oh yeah - i always forget that there is a time gap between the films - and i suppose the number of people that Palpatine had to kill would be less than those killed when Alderaan was destroyed, making it less likely that he would have been able to sense it through the Force, even with training
-
That, plus anyone who's lived on Coruscant long enough would know not to talk about what they just saw...
-
Yeah...I can't see Palpatine really killing that many people by himself. He was always one for manipulation...Always had his to lackeys do is bidding for him.
"I couldn't see more then 3 Super Star Destroyers for the Empire...Thinking as if you wanted to use them all on one map..it would be horrid just thought of how far spread they would be...kinda like many other mods where things would be off screen."
-
Maybe all the workers who buried Lusankya were killed by accidents like shuttle crash or something
-
Yeah..Kinda like former Chancellor Valorum dun dun dunned.
-
Either that, or the workers were the first to test the Lusankya's brig...
-
there are many options
-
of course he didnt kill them
some body wouldve noticed the dissapearance of millions of people it was probably dark side influence wait just think of what happened when the lusankya went up people falling on the lusankya's bridge that would be funny in a cartoon
-
I believe he killed them.
-
maybe no one lived in that part of coruscant when it was buried but they put people were allowed to live there after it was buried
or palpatine could of just scheduled the area for destruction legally so nobody thought anything out of the ordinary happened
-
he wouldn't bother anything hard to succeed. He killed them, that was the best and easiest solution for Palpatine.
-
maybe no one lived in that part of coruscant when it was buried but they put people were allowed to live there after it was buried
on a planet where space is at such a premium ?? i doubt they would let even the smallest area be unpopulated, especially not an area the size of a the Lusankya (remember it was built on the surface of the planet, so that would mean that there was nothing at all on that patch of ground, or anywhere above it)
-
There would have had to be a heck of a lot free space. Wasn't Lusankya 19km long like all Executor-class SSDs?
-
well then couldnt he of scheduled a area for destruction and then put the lusankya there
-
I think there would be some note in somewhere.
-
some note in what
-
I mean there would have been somekind of mention if he had destroyed part of Coruscant.
-
aswould there be if he killed thousands maybe millions of people
-
no if he would have made it look like an accident. and who said he killed them all in same time in same place.
-
he could have had the ship land on them and it wasnt put archives because only an idiot would put that in the archives
-
thats not a bad idea
-
will rebels have any of their captured SSDs on use?
-
i think they should get the lusankya eventually
-
The Rebellion will not have the Lusankya, New Republic will.
-
thank you for that information.
-
cool im looking forward to it
-
About the Lusankya thing Both Fondor and Kuat said they built the Executor, but Executor was built at Fondor, the Lusankya was built under the same name at Kuat at the same time to make it look like only one was being built, after completion though, the one from Fondor was given to Vader and the Kuat one was taken to Coruscant
-
Don't necro post.
-
Will the Eclipse be in any of the releases?
Also, why dont you just lock all topics with 40 days of being not posted in?
-
Yes, it will. We've shown a render of it recently, it will be the Clone Emperor's flagship.
We sometimes allow people to necro post, but only with permission from us.
-
Than the Clone Emperor will be one of my targets to play as when he comes out.
-
eeeeeh....
I think it will be funny ;): "ELEGY"-class Super Star Destroyer (commander Taruun Khai, commander of 6th devision of 501st legion, fleet commander of whole 501st. He showed himself in the battle over Coruscant (Clone Wars) and over HOTH (Civil War, EP4)) - enormous battlestation, secret base of 501st, wich can take on board four million soldiers, 1,5 million of personell five hundred thousand battle machines like AT-AT, AT-ST and so one, four "Executor"-class Super Star Destroyers, one "Sovereign"-class Super Star Destroyer, two hundred Interdictors, five hundred ISDs, one million starfighters and bombers. Has got six interdictor field generators, improved engines, almost undestructible shield generators, very powerful shields, two cloaking devices, three command briges one hangar for Star Destroyers, ten hangars for starfighters and brand-new hyperdrive. That's all, i think ::)
-
What the fuck?
-
What the hell does that even mean?
-
What the fuck is that all supposed to mean? Seriously. Are you proposing some sort of new Star Dreadnaught?
-
Maybe hes trying to make a new faction.
-
Or that could be somesort of weird joke nobody understands.
-
Come on dudes, it was just a fucking dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:( You are standing between man and his dreams, shame on you!!!!!! ;)
-
Hell I have weird dreams too.
-
i have such wierd dreams sometimes i apparently talk backwards in my sleep
-
Stay on topic... Stay on topic...
-
yes sir anyway
i think a ssd could of taken down the death star 1 somehow lets hear your veiws
-
If there weren't any shields and it was left there to pound it for a few days, then it could.
-
If DS1 could take out a planet it could take out a SSD.
-
No it couldn't. They wouldn't be able to hit it with the superlaser.
-
and remember the 1st death star has a weakness and i think a ssd could survive long enough to get above it and release its vast array of bombers and fighters and its own missiles
-
no. A superlase could easily destroy an SSD
-
The Death Star prototype took down ships the size of the Millenium Falcon. DS1 could take out a massive ship like a SSD.
-
DS prototype missed an entire planet, it would easily miss a SSD, and both the prototype and the DS1 lacked the targeting capabalitites of the DS2
-
There is a an extraordinarily small chance that the DS1 could target the Executor. The Executor could just fly around to the opposite side of it before the DS1 could get any sort of lock on it. If it stayed still, then eventually they'd get the aim right, but it could very possibly be detsroyed by then.
When did the prototype ever hit a ship the size of the Falcon while it was aiming for em?
-
That was the controllers fault.
In Champions of the Force, it might have been a corvette.
-
But thats just caused it fired randomly into a mass of enemys
-
But an SSD is massive. The Executor is 17 kilometers long. If it fires in a mass of enemies it could fire on an SSD.
-
It could TRY to hit it, that doesn't mean it's going to. The Executor can move faster than it, and if it misses once, it has to spend a load of time recharging for another shot. If the shields are down (If they were up it would have all the time in the world and eventually hit it) then the Executor could most likely destroy the superlaser dish within minutes.
-
The Ds1 also had thousands of weapons other than the superlaser, ion cannons, turbolasers, hundreds of fighters and probably more stuff.
-
And Executor-class SSDs were 19km long. I think that DSI wouldn't have been able to hit Executor with it's superlaser. But as sarcronis said there were thousands of other guns, turbolaser, ion cannons. But Executor was more mobile. It could have destroyed the weapons points of one spot and then say on that spot and fire upon it. I think that Executor would have won DSI.
-
And the DS1 had one shot before it had to recharge, i think it was close to a day
-
yep. but That power was needed to destroy a planet. I think that they wouldn't have need the full power to destroy Executor.
-
If the DS1 could lower its power output, it wasnt designed for it
-
wasn't it. then never mind what I said.
-
I dont know that it couldnt, im just saying its only purpose was for planets, nothing else was considered to be a target
-
you are propably right.
-
In a ssd vs ds1 i really don't know who would win.
-
SSD propably. Especially if it would be commanded by Thrawn.
-
But maybe only Thrawn, otherwise the DS1 would just overwhelm it with firepower and shield power
-
I'm not so sure.
-
Taim & Bak D6 turbolaser batteries (5,000)
Taim & Bak XX-9 heavy turbolasers (5,000)
SFS L-s 4.9 laser cannons (2,500)
Borstel MS-1 ion cannons (2,500)
Phylon tractor beam generators (768)
Id say thats more than enough
-
That's the Ds1 firepower. Dang.
-
Then you need to take into account radius and range. They would be evenly spaced around the gigantic station, so very few could shoot at one time.
-
i agree
-
Plus the 7000 starfighters and 4 strike cruisers
-
I don't believe we're counting the Fighters, otherwise the Executor's could just do the trench run and it's not really the Executor and Death Star fighting.
-
Okay, then take the DS1 shields into account, i mean it could create enough energy to destroy a planet, those shields would have been a liitle tougher than the ssd
-
Yep. Thats why I said a few pages ago it would win assuming the DS1's shields were down.
also, I think this is straying from the topic.
-
we're still talkin about ssds
-
Not anything that has to do with the mod though.
-
How many ssd's will be in the mod, or can't you say??
-
In R1:
Executor-Class
R2:
Executor,
Sovereign,
Eclipse,
Viscount
R3:
Possibly a Mandator
-
Can you build multiples, and is the Empire the only ones allowed to get them?
-
In R1:
Executor-Class -Unlimited, Empire
R2:
Executor, -Unlimited, Empire
Sovereign, -limited, Empire
Eclipse,- limited, Empire
Viscount -Unlimited, New Republic
R3:
Possibly a Mandator -Limited, Republic
-
Any way for the NR to get an executor class?
-
Unlimited Executer, and Viscount? One word....AWESOME!
-
hm whats a viscount ??? well time to head for google
-
How many is limited for the Sovereign and Eclipse. and why is Mandator limited?
-
The Mandator was only used in the Kuat defense fleet and only had a few produced. If there had been anymore, the republic would have gone broke.
-
I think that Eclipse should be limited also. I mean with a superlaser, when you have one Eclipse in a battle you don't need the rest of the fleet.
-
thats true although i think executors should be limited
-
But Executor was built in large quatities. there were 12 or more if I remember right. there was only two Eclipse.
-
And the way they're makin the mod if im thinkin right, building a ssd will take enough money and time that you wont have all that many anyways
-
yep. I have understood it so.
-
Eclipse is limited.
-
ah they have changedit.
-
No we haven't...
-
it was always limited
-
he said that in the first place
-
then I think I have been clouded by the light side of the force.
-
with too much of the light side, you start to see things.
-
really i didn know that
-
I must embrace the Dark side. Only then I'm strong enough.
-
Until Yoda comes and cuts your head off
-
Yoda will not stop me. I will become the most powerful sith in the history of the Galaxy!
-
Sure, sith maybe, but Yoda was just to kickass
-
He will flee and I will hunt his friends down.
-
Then i use my SSD to blow you up
-
I will turn the laser shots back at your ship using the force.
-
And my shield soak them up, i then nuke you
-
great. back on topic.
-
Youre just saying that cause he beat you.
-
eeeeeh....

Jesus Fucking Christ, thats not a ship, Thats your mother on a bad day...
-
Youre just saying that cause he beat you.
No. I just think that if he wants to continue this discussion we two have we should make a topic for it. sooner or later someone ekse comes and commands: back on topic.
-
Heres a question, what kind of armorment are we going to be able to expect from these wonderful little contraptions? Will they be standardized for play with other FOC/EAW ships or will they have hundreds of turbolasers to make me happy as they shred enemy ships to peices?
-
I expect that the mod team will balance them in-game, and even if they didnt - i dont think the Alamo engine can handle hundreds of hardpoints on a single ship..
-
It can, we can't. The Executor has 84 weapon hardpoints with dual firing bones, Viscount will be about the same number, Eclipse will probably be around 70. No idea about any others yet.
-
Nice, talk about firepower
-
yep. that is great firepower we are speaking.
-
fantastic. I'm currently using the executor model from the Conflict in Space mod it sports 25 targetable and 2 hidden hardpoints. It works quite nicely, Ive seen other mods using more.
-
Will the Executor have more than one hangar?
-
I sure hope it has.
And Scarecrow63 gongratulations for making 1000 posts.
-
ty, ill screenie when i get 1337
and more than one hangar would make sense on a ship of that size, be annoying if they killed one hardpoint and there goes your fighters
