In my opinion, it's a quite overrated mod. they have 1 or 2 nice ideas, although on the whole, there isn't much uniqueness in UEAW, and plus, it's virtually dead in progress right now. they recently added a patch which did little more than a bug fix. however, i don't know if they're just not showing news off deliberately. however, i'm not incredibly interested or excited by it, ither way.

I've downloaded it, but never gotten it to work......

there is virtually no difference between 4.063 except a map, and that's a year's work.

it's the community's most overrated mod and is unofficially dead. it's moving slower than an asthmatic snail.

I'm not sure if it is dead yet, however, they haven't updated their galleries in who knows how long. The current version is a bit overrated, however some of the things that they plan to do that I've seen on their forums(actually have seen some screenshots of new features), do look promising.

well its site is filled with endemic fanboys who think it's the best game ever.
it's currently a mod with a few heavily saturated (dread, eclipse) models in any other mod, 4 or 5 planets, and 1 or 2 mildly interesting concepts. it was the 1st mod i tried and i thought it was great, but i later realised it was inferior to other mods. the ONE unique feature is the nebula SD.

I played around with it for a couple hours, then went back to playing z3rox's mod, which is the best (so far)

the current UEAW that is out is more of a teaser like your fall of the republic mini-mod
there will be a multi era sequel with: KOTOR, Clone Wars, and Imp rement vs new reps
it will be released in V1:space and V2:land
it will play more like regular FOC, in that each faction only has 3 frigates, 2 cap ships, 2 corvettes, and a jumbleof fighters and bombers rather than dozens of ships per faction

There's only so much space on the Space build tab ;)  Plus, more ships = more work.

Well aparently when looking at their forums they've found a way to be able to put more units on the build tab by separating the ships into classes and then clicking the class button will show all available ships. For instance, you click on capital ships and then the build bar will show all of the capital ships once you've selected the ships you press another button on the build bar which takes you back to the other classes, so now you can go and select corvettes.
