Fighter Targeting

Is there any way to change the priority target for fighters. What I've seen is that the fighters will attack other fighters and bombers when nothing bigger is around, but what I would like is for the fighter to prioritize the other fighters and bombers even when say a frigate or capital ship is around. It makes sense that the bombers attack a larger ship but in my opinion the fighters should be going after the enemy fighters or bomber before even thinking about going after the enemies main ships.
