do you know what really makes me mad? that the NR didn't make as many different SSDs as the empire. they would have won much faster had they done so. it's just not fair. but, if their were more NR SSDs, they would be absolute SUPER-CARRIERS.

but, i'm a member of the PA at heart, and my wish here is to join the ranks of grand admirals... sorry, the elite imperial alignment

The main gun was affected by whatever the tech is that allows capital ships to target multiple ships.  So instead of firing 1 super powerful shot, if there was 4+ ships, it would fire 4 super powerful shots, 1 per target.  Multiply that by the fact that I had 2-3 in each fleet, and to say his capital ships were wrecked in a mind numbing short time was an understatement.  The final battle I had 6 Peltasts...it was...brutal.  I honestly felt bad for one fleet I went against of ...god I can't remember his name, but Puerto's teammate.  I had 2 Peltasts along with an acompanying fleet (and 2 Phalanx's, Intego, Syndic) and he had 4 Allegiances + a couple ISD-II's.  2 super blasts to each of 4 caps every 15 seconds, his fleet was smoldering wreck in no time flat.  I was cackling with joy, I probably sounded just like the Emperor.  :)

Not to mention that the first hour of the game was Puerto, Scarecrow and myself struggling to survive against some overly-active Ssi-Ruuvi invasions that confined us all to two planbets, while Miller was pretty much just allowed to expand... It was pretty brutal.

No kidding, I had to build the Bellator with only 4 planets. I think I killed myself (due to large ship upkeep and small economy)  before Corey and Miller killed me. That was definitely the most crazy Sins game I've played in a while.

So back to the peltast, I like it's name. It's a reference to the Greek soldiers that through javelins to "harass" their enemies.  Though no enemies that had javelins thrown at them would just feel "Harassed".
