As promised, LucasArts has announced a new Star Wars game franchise, the oddly-titled Star Wars 1313. There are few details ahead of the game's formal unveiling at E3 next week, but it's to be an internally developed game and will see you playing the role of a bounty hunter on Coruscant during the original trilogy time period. The game is described as a 'third person cinematic action adventure game' that takes part in a 'dark and mature world'. The official website is live but features nothing but a quick teaser intro. The name comes from Level 1313, a criminal underground below the surface of the capital planet. As far as we can tell this is something invented purely for the game, but a quick scour on the Star Wars fan wiki reveals that CT-1313 is an alias once used by Boba Fett in a young reader novel.'The game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy. Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world,' reads the press release.Although this will be LucasArts' first internally developed game since 2010's The Force Unleashed II the game will benefit from 'an integrated development approach by bringing together great artists across the Lucasfilm organisation, including LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm Animation Ltd. and Skywalker Sound.'No formats have been announced and there's no hint of a release date, but we've already booked an appointment to see the game next Wednesday in L.A.'We
why do u hate america? if it were not for us u guys would be lost. i mean we invented the tv, we invented the internet, cars and we even went to the planet moon. we won all the wars and we always help the little countries who cant fight and we give food to poor people.
]Sounds interesting! I wonder if the bounty hunter in question is named, say, Boba Fett?
I still wish they would make a game that would put players in command of a single star ship and make the player able to be like a space commander of an entire battles and play as a fighter or ship as he chooses kind-of like the game pacific battle stations if anyone has ever played it... and then they would call the game Star Wars - Fleet commander...
Really! I've never heard of this Empire at War before. Just t let you know, three gameplay clips were posted on the Star Wars website. It looks awesome, actually reminiscent of RC, and the gameplay is Cinematic. They did very good with the motion capture on this.
They did do something similar to that. Empire at War.
I am looking forward to the new SW game...as long as it goes better than the Force Unleashed.
The first Force Unleashed wasn't bad(had a good story) but the second one just disgusted me and ruined any good from the first one.
What didn't you like about the second one?
I agree about TFUII, what a colossal waste of ?35 that was., lets see:-Too lazy to come up with new character, clone old dead one instead.-Main character is a whiny git who moans about his progenitor's girlfriend every 5 minutes.-Entire plot is solving said whiny git's relationship problems.-About 4 missions covering two planets and a spaceship (the Dagobah 2 minute walk doesn't count).-Yoda and Boba Fett turn up for about 30 seconds for no reason at all.-Repetitive QTE baddies.-Exact same villain/final boss from the first game.-Dark Side 'Ending' is a glorified game over screen.-Light Side Ending ends on a crap pseudo-cliffhanger that will never be resolved. But anyway I'm looking forward to this game, but I'd still prefer a Battlefront III or Jedi Knight VI....
