Steam Installation Troubles
« on: April 26, 2015, 07:55:00 PM »
Let's start from the beginning. I downloaded the .rar for v2.1 at the site the moddb page took me to. I ran through the instructions on the downloads page and nothing, the base game worked but the mod did not. I tried running it as an administrator, ran through the compatibility options and it only ran the original game. I re-installed a few times and same thing. I looked up the ram fix on pastebin, tried it again and nothing. Re-installed again, and now the base game isn't working. It says exception error. Don't quite remember the rest. I'm running this on Windows 7 64bit. Please help I really want to play this.

First question, did you modify your launch options correctly?  Steam version of the game the mod can't be launched via the .bat file, you have to use the Steam application launch options to set where your mods are.

Yes I basically copy pasted the pathway posted in the instructions on the downloads page. I later tried adding swfoc and a space in front of it as some modders on youtube suggested and same result.

Going to need more information than that.  Did you start from a clean, unmodded download of EaW?  If not, have Steam delete local files, then manually check the directory and make sure everything is gone - actually, it's good troubleshooting to do this anyways - then re-download and install the mod again.  Are you launching through Steam or the mod's launcher?  Because you want to launch through Steam.
