In my Multi-purpose fleets or other non specific fleets i use an Immobilizer and an Interdictor ISD i use the IISDs grav well if the Immobilizer is destroyed when im versing an important rebel or Eoth fleet.
Its good for putting missiles and torpedoes off course and antifighter duties.
That is true, that second ability slipped my mind, though what is the range of that effect?
In about a circular area around the 418 that you could fit 3 smaller ships or 2 more 418s into. I put them between ISDs to jam incoming missiles aimed at my Destroyers and they work fine.
Yeah, that's honestly about the only thing they're good for. If you let a capitol ship get ANYWHERE close to one without lots of firepower surrounding it, it'll get eviscerated. Generally due to the cost compared to utility, I don't use them, but sometimes when I've taken some bad losses, and don't have a lot of capitol ship production facilities and absolutely CAN'T afford more losses, I'll build some and use for that purpose. But if I have 1/2 or more of the capitol ship facilities that are available on the map, I don't bother.
