2.2.5 Space Battle lag
« on: September 23, 2018, 11:23:06 PM »
Any suggestions on settings i should change on my end to help performance during space battles.
With 2.2.5 I'm seeing odd frame drops that dip to 8fps then back to 120ish according to steams frame rate overlay.
Could it be a steam overlay setting?

During galaxy map and ground battles i have not detected any lag issues

I currently have auto saved turned off in game to fix an issue in a previous issues of Thrawn's Revenge.
Only experienced one CTD during play which happened after an extended session without manually saving. (have been manually saving to try and prevent it, but does not appear to assist with lag in space battles)

Thanks in advance.

I was having the same issue, what worked for me was changing the game in task manager to prioritize the game to run one on thread of my processor as it is not designed for modern quad core processors. Follow these steps, open empire at war FoC, open task manager, go to the details tab, select "StarWarsG.exe, right click and select "set affinity", select the core you'd like to run it on (i'd recommend core 3), close the game and reopen it, your problem should be fixed  ;D.
