Multiplayer problems with Gameranger

whenever I launch the mod through gameranger, instead of taking me right into a multiplayer GC lobby? it only takes me to the main menu so I can't play multiplayer. please help

one of the problems is that gameranger does not support mods.
You can rig it to work though, but I don't remember how. I haven't done this in almost a year.
