Yeah, and the old one looked like Donald Duck frowning.
I think this is a pretty reasonable continuation of the clonetrooper/stormtrooper helmet design theme. It, like almost any helmet designed to be faceless and mass produced, is intended to be a face in itself - it is supposed to trigger the basic instincts that recognize facial features (eyes, nose, cheekbones, mouth) without actually providing any of those features; hence why it is easy to take a cartoon face and show similarities, as almost any cartoon character would suffice here if you put them next to it because both cartoon characters and such helmets are designed to be face-like rather than faces. It's close enough to the original stormtrooper helmet that I can see it as an evolution of the design, yet different enough for us to be able to distinguish these troopers from what came before. I'm willing to give it a thumbs up until and unless the troopers wearing it turn into cartoon characters themselves - which, frankly, the original stormtroopers weren't at a terribly safe distance from either.
