installing RaW mod with TR: ICW mod
« on: June 14, 2011, 09:58:59 PM »
Posted a question on their moddb page about a week ago asking if it's possible to install their mod without messing with the ForcesofCorruption/data directory, and instead using the typical /mods directory. Answer I got didn't please me too well, and then I saw Corey's post about 1.2 beta of ICW used in conjunction with RaW. Renaming script files in data directory or something like that.

Anyways, any clarification on what needs to be done so I don't have to have two different FoC games installed on the pc?

Just go into FoC/Data, find the XML and Scripts folder in there, and just add in extra letters to the folder names, or take them away. All that matters is they no longer be called Scripts and XML. That way the game won't recognize them. Then when you want to play RaW again, just rename them back to Scripts and XML.

Alternatively, just put them into Mods/Repblic_at_War/Data. I don't know why he felt the need to put them in Data in the first place.

Uh, don't rename the XML folder in FoC/Data if you have the RAM Fix installed, that'll break FoC again.  You need to just rename/move the AI folder within the XML folder.

I just reinstalled FoC to check.  The FoC Ram Fix adds an XML folder to FoC/Data with a modified GRAPHICDETAILS.xml without which i get an exception on launch.

With mine it seems to just auto-create those again whenever it needs to, so maybe it's a permissions thing? I'm constantly deleting or overwriting that file when I map.
