Mapping Problem...
« on: October 24, 2009, 11:02:24 AM »
Ok, since Corsica came out with his mapping tutorial i went back to mapping and actually started trying to make a map.  So I did, and I wanted to put a couple rivers in it, but they turned out like this...

How do i fix??  Some help would be appreciated.

Get the big picture, not just the thumbnail. I can't see anything in that.

You couldn't just go fetch it yourself?  Like this:

I could have, but I didn't feel like it.

Anyways, you seem to be using the texture tool to make a river, or you've set the render mode to ice.

i have the render mode set to water, under the water section on the EAW Map Editor, and it turns out like that in the game, but when editing it looks fine

Use the height tool to make water, not the texture tool. I think that might be the problem. Also, there is a proverb (which i just made up); water looks only as good as your skydome. Although i must say i havent quite seen anything like that picture.... can you post a thumbnail of it with LOS on the river.

see it looks fine in the Map Editor...just not in the game(yes that is the color i want it, and that is the skydome i want, i think it makes it feel more like a gloomy, rainy day)

If you make it with the EAW editor, play it with EAW. If you make it on the FoC editor, play it on FoC.

I have no idea what the prob is. Im going to emulate all the water/nature settings you have there and see if i cant determine the problem. A challenge! I likey :)
